My FX-53 has been running strong ever since I got it when they first hit the market. I've never ran over 1.65v thru the chip, and it has been OC'ed very little. It has been H20 cooled the whole time.

Within the past week, it has been acting funny and now is not stable at stock speeds. I can get it to boot, and idle in windows...but that's about it. I dropped it down to 2200MHz and I can run some progs, but most eventually fail. I have tried the chip in my Neo2, AV8, and A8V, and the same thing happens with every board. I have switched the RAM and video card, as well as the HDD...but nothing is seeming to work. I've swapped PSUs, and that didn't work.

Do you guys think that my chip has gone bad, It's pratically brand new? Can I RMA the chip to AMD? Please help me here, I'm about to pull my hair out.

I called AMD today about my problem, and they seem to think that the memory controller on the chip has gone bad. Has anyone else expierenced this? I know that A64s tend to burn out when a vdimm over 3.4v is applied, but I've never run over 2.8v.

Looks like I may have to RMA the chip. Anyone have any expierence with this? How long should it take to get a replacement?

Cool, will they test the chip out before sending me my new one? I'm 99.99% sure its the chip, but I still don't wanna look like a dummy. It'll boot up fine, just can't handle a load at all.
