this week they have had a rubbish collection, white goods.
i only managed to find this though.
i missed out by one day to a compressor that a friends parent threw out.

im not sure why they threw them out i just hope that i can get them to go, im thinkin cascade.
the bigger compressor has an automatic thermal protection inside it.
what size capacitor should i use and where should i connect it

using the capacitor and wiring from this compressor

no luck it start for about 2secs then trips the mains.
(cap must be wrong valve i hope)
what size capactior do i need to get, or is it internal like it has internal overcurrent protection?

i know that capacitors can be dangerous on turn on expesially the big ones as they go bang (if something is wrong ie a shorted winding in compressor).
at my last work as a electronics tech testing power supplys and to check that they were the correct polatity.
they have had power supplies hit the roof with them in back to front.
for this reason i stuck the cap inside a wooded box and wore my motor cross helment and hid behind the cubourd when i turned it on.
i was nervous

are you sure you connected the cables to the correct pins ?

It has an internal overload. Berkut is right.. The wiring looks wrong

Have a feeling you've got the R and S reversed or something like that.

...edit...
Ya. swap the white and black wires at the compressor.

ok
i had a guess the thing is in a different language.an the markings are in the midle of ther terminals so its not really clear which is which
i measured all the terminals to gnd and its open cct so hopefully this one is a goer.
i swapped the wires (black and white and same thing)
heres a better pic of the terminal, see if anoe knows this language.

From a scrapyard? If they are working thats a good price. If I had the chance to get some of them for this price I'd buy a bunch of them :D

Why dont u remove that thing and connect the 2 main compressor wires with the rest of ur system so u have an Always On compressor?
