I´m having some issues with my 6800gt.
What happened: Last week some water dripped on the card over night while the rig was running which I noticed the next day. I removed the card, dryed it and put it back in the rig.
After some time I noticed that the temps sensor was reading 10-20° which changed over the last week to temps ~40°, so thermal throttling from the drivers shouldnt be a problem.
But what happens is that after some time gaming or while running 3dmark the screen freezes for 2-4 seconds. There are no artifacts/polygon errors though, so I´m not sure whether it´s a heat issue.

it should be a good news when you drop that much temps on your vid :)

but you should watch out for that since it may cause your vid oc too much because the BIOS read the temp wrong...but you shouldn't have too much to worry if you still got the card under warranty, since it would auto oc more high :)

for the freezes you should try other drivers...
I doubt it if it is a heat issue...if your rig is suddenly hang or reboot then heat is more likely the problem

That would be what I would think as power throttling... or suffocation. Just play with vmod and give it a little more juice... I bet it will oc less than what you have now most likely. Guess there was a reason Ultra have 2 molex and more components to handle future "usage"

Maybe something happened when you spilled water on it. Watercooling leak, or did the "cup holder" break?
