View Full Version : Memory question.........
sooooo, does anybody know anything about this ram :
PDP PC3200LLK (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=20-220-006&DEPA=1)
I am thinking I will buy a gig and see how it clocks on my NF7........right now my NF7 will only do about 225 without crapping on the FSB.....tried everything possible to get a better FSB......no go.
The only thing is, I want it to be future proof........will it clock ok on an A64 939 setup? I plan an getting one aroung Christmas.
thanks
so nobody has tried oc'n this stuff at all?
I have no knowledge on that brand of ram but have had a few NF7's.
I wouldn't spend any money trying to get a higher fsb with a NF7, the nf2 chipset seems to be the limiting factor on those and becomes unstable when gaming using onboard lan/sound.
The only reason i would switch ram would be for the greater capacity of 1gb however, i would expect lower ram clocks in the 200-210fsb range.
Prolly not what you wanted to hear but i've always had stability problems of some sort or another at higher fsb's with any nf2 board. I can get my infinity upto 255fsb with every stability test passing but 10min into a MMOG it will either CTD or bluescreen and reboot. 220fsb is as far as i can go without any of these problems. Just food for thought... I don't want you to get this ram hoping you'll get a higher fsb on the NF7.
nah, I dont think I'll get a higher FSB, I just want it to still be able to get 218 right now....I can give up to 3.7Vdimm so thats not a prob.
What is weird is that at one point I could do anything at 236x10.5=2480
I played DoomIII for hours, not a prob. As soon as I moved on campus everything went to crap.
well.....I guess I'll try it and see.
o phooy, newegg raised the price from 160 to 200 the other day......
Is this stuff still BH-5?
