Yepp, finnaly i have gatherd some of the parts that i will need to be able to beginn building my rig. Im gonna start as making it a singelstage, just to eliminate some of my question marks away, and after that, there will probably be some larger modofications on the rig to make it, how should i express it, coolder ? ;)
Just posting some pics of what i have planed to build with so far,
Chilly and all other are wery welcome to share their thougths on this, it will only contribute to more wisdom.
Except if you are going to complain on my english, becase if you are going to do so, you can go and ----- ! :toast:

Ohh, and by the way, the guy that sells the baker block i have managed to get my hands on, has he become a ritsh man yet ? with thoose prices, it seems not be any problem :D
Anyone who have blocks to sell are wery welcome to e-mail some info, pics, and prices on it to me, i would like to get my hands on, ohh, lets say six to beginn with if the price is right.

well, in the future, this rig might not be fore one singel purpose, therefor i will need the extra size on it, the best part is, i have four more of this compressors :D
Thats why i choosed it, strong means vacum ! vacum means coold =)
I dont pay electricity, its allready pain for in my rent. although, my rent is the size of texas....

im not sure i understand what you are meaning, but if i where to make a guess, i think it is about the 90degre bend that the suction line is to be attatsched at.
If so, i bet you i will get it "tight" :)

just have to say "holy testicles", the price for the start equipment was Not s cheap story, and the flexible suction line hose was expensive as Hell !
But, they are still on there way, will begin building the system on friday, hoping to have it "pretty" mutsh done by sunday, with some luck, i can use the weekend after that for the oc part =)

The final parts arrived today, and Got Damn they where expensive !
just so that i know, what do you pay for a flexi suction line like this one in the us, or where you are located even. ?
The startkit for the SC21G was a frikin tripp to the south, ok, half the way at least !

i belive i know what kind of hose you meen, i have been thinking of one of thoose to, but i went for this one due to the fact that i belive this stainless steel hose is smoother and easier to use due to it's flexibility, the ac hoses are actually kind of "stiff" in my opinion.

Yes the price was in euro. It depends on the fittings but they shouldnt get much more expensive even with differant fittngs. I think you should ask for them from Dunlop Hiflex in Sweden. But if you cant find them I can order some and send them to you:)

When i arrived to the place where i do the work on the unit, i light a ciggaret, leans forward, and see a small boubble growing slowly on the evap block.
I wanted to kill something,
ahh well, i thought. lets just make a fast soldering oh that little spot to make the solder flow out on the leak. no problem ? yea, right....
the bottom of the block snapped of sending the hoose on a journey around the solar system....
So, i duct taped that sucker to the frying pan, except i didnt use duct tape... because i where out of it...
The rig has been on vacum since 01:00 ( swe time ) and i am now going to try it again.
afraid that i have totaly ----- up my backer", but hey, atleast i have learned something from building this rig, as although it is my first direct dye rig...

um yeah flares are hard and dont braze with gas in there. Besides the fact its a flare joint.

10-10-2004, 11:23 AM
Use flare washers... Or don't use flares at all, I am going to braze in line only from now on. Found a good US source. And Ya bakers are hard to braze too. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, And use paste floride base flux even with the 15% silfoss it makes the braze more oxide free.
Zejtan
10-10-2004, 01:41 PM
Sharp: Yea, thats about it... frost, but not cold...
chilly1: i didnt have a leack there at first. but after i had to re-splder the block it loosend and leaked... but i couldnt tight it enough to macke it no leack again, so i went psycho on it and solderd it thight... and i DOnt like these baker block's any more... i will have to make one of myself. due to the simple fact that i cant afford to buy anyone elses...
But i have som problem with my system, i can se the problem, but i would like someone elses opinion on the system, i have made som mesurements on it, so chilly, and anyone alse that has a clue on it, plz feel free to make me feel like an idiot and tell me what i have made wrong, the presure on high side makes me "go figure", but the suction presure is "looking good", but the temps on the evap makes no sence to me...
feel free to commennt, because i realy need to get this rig up and running.
I was aiming for atleast -55c, but ended up with a wery expencive pice of copper that makes noice...
System mesurements
Evap -23,3c
Inlet compressor +7,2c
inlet condenser +17,2c
outlet condenser +9,3c
filter inlet +8,9c
outlet filter +8,9c
Air in on condenser +7,6c
Air out of condenser +9,1
Room temperature +7,2c
compressor top is "hot" not burning, but warm.
compressor bottom is "hot" not burning, but warm.
R507
Suction pressure is -0.6 Bar ( -60c )
High pressure is 7 Bar ( +9c )
All under NO LOAD !
The capilary is aprox 1.6 meters ( 160 cm ) of 0.028"
I have a feeling that the hp is Way to low for this setup, but i have tryed to "yank" it upp by blocking the air on the condenser, helps wer little, might get it to 8 Bar or so.
I have been thinking that the condenser is Way to big for this system ?
i started with 2.4 M ( 240 cm ) of 0.028, and have shortend me down to this for some reason.
The lowest temp i have had on the evap is around -30c.
The vacum i have had was 4 mBar in well ower 10 hours before the mesurements above was made.
Plz, if you have a good idea of what i should to. plz let me know.
Best Regards

Add more gas and run the pressure up to -.2 bar. The get the inlet and outlet temps of the compressor the condenser and the evaporator as well as the pressures.
Zejtan
10-10-2004, 01:54 PM
i habe tryed that, i get way more frosting back to the compressor, the temp on the evap block isnt geting "mutsh" better. and the high side presure dont go up by mutsh, but the evap suction preuser is rising if i do so. i am thinking that maybe there is something "jammed" in the block that dont alow the gas to evaporate where it is ment to do so, that it takes a hort-cut or something back to the compressor.
chilly1
10-10-2004, 07:01 PM
You will need 3 meters of 0.028 capillary tube and a suction pressure of -.2 bar. Should give you -50C with R507. It should frost all the way back to the compressor with the line insulated.
Zejtan
10-10-2004, 09:53 PM
Aight, then i will ripp this "sucker" into bloody pices as soon as i get time to do it, probably wont happen untill next weekend but hey. lets love to wait, time is our friend.....
I will go for your 2 meters of 0.028" tube and suction -0.2 Bar Chilly, my god i hope you are right. But hey, you know this things better then most of the members here so i will follow your command :D

3 meters....
I got a R507 system runiing 9 ft .028 at -53 degrees.
when you turn off the system how quick does the thing take to equalise.
cool pics are fixed, man ya crazy, i can see ya had fun with the stove as the heatload.
as long as it doesnt leak (patch it) and sand the bottom nice n flat and polish
should be able to use it then
also why use fittings at all, just getting the hose and braze copper pipe to steel flex hose, leak free now no screws to worry about.

I got a R507 system runiing 9 ft .028 at -53 degrees.
It's not that i dont trust you, im just an idiot and have to act like one to =)
but i hope you are right. and i will try your advise ass soon as posible ( friday it seems like )
kayl: The frying pan does not act as a heat load, it is just so that i wouldnt burn the place down when i solderd the block :D but it look's like Predator raged thrue the joint...
The system equalises pretty good according to me, but it seems ass there are no liquid exiting the capilary tube, just gas, makes me wannt to try chilly1's advice on the "fill it upp untill it works" theory about the liquid that stays in the kondenser.
And now, i am going to sitt down to draw a evap design that i have in my head, and take it to a friend that i just realice can make them in his machine that he has, IN His Garage !. i have been serching like a fool for someone that can make blocks for me, and the dude is my neighbour....

Looks like the captube not entering the blok completly but entering the suction line.
Gas is suct out the captube and goos directly in the suction line .
So no decent presure on hs and even a litle gas in the system gif's u frost until the compressor .
My 2 cents
suxes wit'h u new block ;)
