View Full Version : Some updated GSkill TCCD info and bench

Hi all, first of all, i appreciate all the input you guys gave me.
To clarify how Gskill TCCD does, I would like to share the lastest product we have now for
Dual Channel 1g kit!
As you can see from the pictures below, we enclosed two bech screen shots, all memtest, to
promise Gskill TCCD really as advertised. Please note, this is not like Adata DDR600(pc4800), we
really promise what our ram can do. Maybe some one them are really can go up to dual channel
DDR600, but we don't guarantee that! Since for TCCD IC, DDR550 dual channel 2.5-3-3-7 has been
very hard to nail it as rock solid like this.

http://www.e04hardware.com/newGSkillTccd/2.jpg
I also simply do couple test, they are all just simple tests.
Please take a look as your own reference only.
Again, I am here to help everyone and also highly appreciate everyone's input!
http://www.e04hardware.com/newGSkillTccd/ddr555sis.jpg

Gskill TCCD will be available around 10 days later, I will keep update that!

what can the ram do with 1T cmd?
Well...im only at 2.6gig with an FX53 aircoolled on stock MSI neo2 but i feel this is pretty cool with 1T. More vdimm would have me at 300 1T im sure.
Sandra is wrong here btw...known MSI sandra bug.
This is 3200Plat rev2 from OCZ 2x512 in dual channel.

Sir Bigtoe is correct...the benches I got are all set as 1t cmd!
Lets see some unbuffered sandra.
BTW, i like seeing some ram on the market that isn't smothered with heatspreaders.

@Bigtoe,
How can I tell if OCZ Platinum is rev2?
@Bigtoe,

onepagebook, why do you have the name of your cpu blacked out? does that mean its an FX-55? and whats the deal with the "0.13?" why the "?"
saaya
09-28-2004, 11:06 PM
55s are 130nm, not 90nm as amd managed to tweak their 130nm process. they must have found something to speed their 130nm cpus, the newest fx53 chips oc to almost 3ghz on air. fx55 is still not out, like a month or so left till its released. if he "would" have an fx55 he "would" have to hide the processor name ;)
yeah, nice to see some memory without heatspreaders :)

thats what i thought hehe
i do lke ram sans spreaders. though sometimes i like them. offers ESD protection to an extent, and on some like OCZ EB it really helps dissipate heat.

I personally don't think tccd will get any advantage from high volt.
2.55~2.85 is the best range! :D

For those friends who come from Europe:
I just called my president in Taiwan,he said tat:
we are really sorry about not have any reseller in Europe. We will cover all the shipping and insurance cost. We only charge 5 USD for handling fee until we have
distributor or reseller in Europe. After that, everything is going to back to normal.
How's that sound? Good? :D
Ok..so where can I order?

Onepagebook,
From this point on it's probably better to keep all sales information, pricing, etc confined to PM. We can't allow too much of this is in this section. Possibly a note in your sig inviting peeps to PM or e-mail you about Gskill info would be nice :D

The policy is really nice for Europe BUT there is a high possibility of tax-custom paying since the mems are going to be send by a 3rd country to us and not by an EU's one....
Just pay attention to that to not have any misapprehension in the cost on arrival :)

Sorry about the confusion. What I mean is that Samsung TCCD just unique name for the IC, it doesn't have several kinds of specifications in terms of speed. The differce ram we list on web are just the effort we made(hand-pick and do serious stress testing) to let customers won't feel need to try for own luck (see if they can have the chance to get the awesome ram!)
Hope it clear some confusion!

Just received 2 pairs of GSkill RAMs and did some quick testing. Man, they are the real deal!! Due to some board problem (which OnePageBook helped me to solve - Thanks man!), I have not had enough time to find the max limit yet. But, as of now, it seems that both pairs can perform DDR560 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.7v vDIMM which is slightly above spec of DDR550. I ran all the typical RAM tests with no error at all. They probably still have some reserve to go higher. Or, I can try to raise the vdimm to 2.8v.
Here are some screenie during my tests.

1 out of 300 applies for DC only, onepagebook said that even his worse dimm did 300MHz.

More juice definately won't help this RAM, it ain't like BH-5 and so aren't the heatspreaders.
Heatspreaders are just eyecandy and maybe they help eliminate ESD problems, for overclocking you don't want them.
max vdimm for TCCD is like 2.9v... :)

I already know that as the link was provided above. Im just saying that we cant get it here in the UK unlike you americans.
It seems a bit strange that its not availible here in europe but atleast 5 German overclockers have got them.
I would like if the european situation would be resolved pretty soon as I strongly feel that there would be many future buyers of GSkill here in the UK.

Yeah, Gskill has special deal for Euro peeps... I think it's because US and UK have dealers pending, so Gskill doesn't sell to them. Europe prob has no representation yet, so they sell direct until they have a dealer. I'm sure the UK dealer will pop up asap.

The module description p4z1f1st mentioned (F1-3200DSU2-1GBLE) obviously theoretically is the one to get. They're the same they offered me when I inquired about the sticks ($5 shipping from Taiwan, I like it - finally some benefits living in Europe :D ) But I was greedy and wanted to know more about F1-3200DSU2-1GBLA sticks which are rated PC4800, and now I've got no answer for 2 days :D
Now, happy owners, come out with some benches so that we see whether these modules are the ones to get practically as well!
The deal for those sticks is apparently off now with only a few select German overclockers getting any answer from GSkill.

Please note that your benches are insane that I admit but remember I'm running 2x512 on a single memory controller chip not DC like yourself. The 939 chipset does and should run 2x512 better than the 754 chipset.
What we need is more numbers with your ram on a single memory controller cpu. I think the GSkill is some amazing stuff so than I assume a single stick of 512 should do over DDR600 with 1t enabled.
Look forward to getting some. :banana4:

Heh! I'll let ya look bro! :p:
hm, thought they were on sale from friday?
They were supposed to be up tomorrow but I got a e-mail from eXcaliberpc.com saying they got them in. (restock alert)
Better swoop em, cause I bet they go fast!! My gig will be here monday and I'll definately post some screenies with my FX-53 on 9 or 10 multi!!!!!
Hey guys,
I can´t give you new record-numbers on my NF7-S, because either my TBred or my mobo has problems with FSB>215MHz.
215@2-2-2-x is absolutely no problem, but when I rise the FSB to 217, 3DM2k1 always freezes during Lobby-Gametest, even with lower clocks of my TBred and my 9700pro.
I tried the Black Mantaray BIOS D26 XT with L12-softmod, but no improvement...so either the mod does not work or it´s my mobo. And I don´t feel like doing the L12-Bridge mod, when there should come a new S939-rig in December
But still it´s very satisfying to have 1GB in DC @2-2-2-x at 215*11.5 with my good old TBred1700+@1.71V...

I just ordered the same 1GB kit as kraggy from excaliberpc as well. :D
Should arrive on monday. I'll show you guys a comparison of the GSkill and some OCZ PC4400 EL Gold (2.5-8-4-4, Hynix IC's). Should make for an overclocking filled 4 day weekend. Word.
:toast:
Edit: Oh yeah, initial tests will be on a 3.0c, so I wont be able to get the RAM anywhere near its ceiling. This will give me a chance to finally break out LikwidKool's 2.4c M0 to max the GSkill out at 2.5-7-3-3.

What about a simple L12 wire mod in the socket? Easy to put in, easy to remove.
Did you try the CPC on/off option (not sure if it's on that bios?)

CPC off is no option for me, as the performance loss is quite high. On another german forum, a guy compared CPC on/off on his NF7-S and he needed +25MHz on the FSB to equalize the performance drop from CPC off.
Perhaps I´ll try the wire mod...

We all know that. However, it's important to see whether with CPC off you can't get higher fsb wise. That would pretty much indicate whether your board is the bottleneck there because most nforce2 boards in general do not like high fsb with 512Mb sticks CPC on...
Btw, just got an answer from GSkill. They have the F1-3200SU2-12GBLA sticks in stock as well - and that's DDR600 2.5-3-3-7    However, the price is a little bit higher: $315 vs $285 for the F1-3200SU2-12GBLE kit (DDR550 2.5-3-3-7) - now I'm trying to summarize my outgoing cash flow to allow the extra room for these ones :D

I bought a gig of the Gskill PC4400 2.5-3-3-7 TCCD (2x512)
used in a DFI 250gb with 9/12 modded BIOS
3400+ Claw CG 1mb
single channel
2x512mb in Dimm-slots1&2 ......at any memory clocks higher than 245mhz (DDR490) CPC 1T, regardless of timings, memtest looptest#5 gets thousands of errors around 96-97%
didnt matter what Vdimm...3.1V even
are the 754mobos really that incapable of 1T command rate when using 2x512mb of memory?
when i ran each stick by itself, they were fine, 275mhz (DDR550) memtest stable @ 2.5-3-3-6 2.7V 1T
but when running both sticks toghether in DC mode, cant get past 250mhz in 1T

First with 2 dimms it is not Dual Channel mode. S754 is single channel.
I orderd some of those too. I have a DFI LP UT3 too.

I´ll try this later...but loosening the timings from 2-2-2-7 to 2.5-3-3-7 (achievable timings for up to DDR550) resulted in the same Lobby-freeze at FSB217.
But the whole thing doesn´t bother me too much, because the GSkill memory is intended to go into my next A64-rig...

this has been a known problem with s745's memory controller has it not? I highly doubt it has anything to do with the board.
anyone want to buy some XMS 256 meg sticks of bh-5 j/k( ;) pm me) :D I really would like to try this stuff out but cant justify more spending without shucking something.
Also OnePageBook, what didnt you like about the epox 9NDA3+? Didnt like the tccd chips or just funky? I think ive run into what i believe is a voltage problem above 2.6ghz that hopefully could be solved by vmods as this board really does have potential imho.

Not sure if this has been asked, but who (if anyone) is a distributer of GSkill memory products in Canada?
I'm in a toss-up between a 1 GB package of either the OCZ 3700EB or the 4400-1GBLE GSkill package, but if that $USD price is any indication, I'll take the GSkill.
These would make a great addition to a new FX-55 system. :)

Onepagebook please limit the threads about your memory to one. Additionally, while it appears your memory is an excellent choice for oc'ers, I would like to see your numbers verified by some of our members as collaboration. It would do far more to promote your case if Oppainter, Lardarse, Macci or Fugger sang your praises for you. I also think you should let the members see your checksums in CPU-Z. ;)

I know that Samsung makes the chips. It's just that according to the OCZ guys in this forum, with the new batch of chips that they (OCZ) received, Samsung made some modifications/revisions to them that makes them respond better to higher voltage and oc better.

The only stable setting is with voltage set to 'Auto' in BIOS (275Mhz 2-3-3-7 1T) (CoreCenter shows 2.70v VDDR then). But whenever I set the voltage manually, even when it's set to 2.70v I get errors in Memtest #5.

it's normal, the bandwith in sandra depend of the frequency of the cpu!
for example, fsb: 225 2 2 2 5
