As you can see on this picture, the little chip or what you call it? Have fallen of the stick, probably under the shipment to my home by the Swedish post office  :grr:
The picture:

Since there are two sticks in the package I can use at least one of them  .
But to the main reason for this message.. I'm not going to plug the broken memory in the motherboard, but do you think it's dead broken or do it still maybe work?

Why risk it... and why mess with product that could be flakey?
RMA it!

Yeah I will. But I wonder who will pay the price, since the box the memory laid in isn’t in bad shape or anything. But the memory box (plastic) had some bad scratches.
Well I only hope it won’t take long. Do you think I should use the other stick? Or just leave them bought?
Thanks!
I wouldnt even use it, just send it straight back, and tell them ya noticed it as soon as ya got it.

Sounds like a matched pair... if you send one back you are best off (and might be forced to by OCZ) to ship them both back.
OCZ will end up taking the biggest hit for it. And you will as well because you will have to pay for more shipping... and you will be without RAM for a couple weeks. It would almost have to be a manufacturing error. lol it's pretty hard to just pop off a surface mounted part on a pcb. Prob wasn't attached well in the first place.

Yeah it's most definitely weird! But I shall do as you said. Not touch anything and just post it back. Hope the company will just send me a new pair fast as hell back! :shakes:

It's a small decoupling capacitor. Get out your soldering iron and put it back on. Shouldn't be hard to find. Of course, you will have to remove the heatspreaders to find the pad most likely.

Can anyone confirm that this will work just as new, when I’ve put the capacitor back on?
Or just RMA it. But that takes time..
Thanks

Yeah, I can confirm this. I have had to do this twice before. Soldering the cap back onto the stick will fix any problems.

The thing that fall of the stick is called smd amd by resoldering it(with xtreme care!) you will get a fully functional stick again! :D

I've had to resolder things like that back onto 5900's I had that came nearly DOA. alittle soldering and some patience and it worked like new.
