I followed Hell Fires great guide on modding the sense wires to be able to adjust the 5v 3.3V and 12V Rails.I have adjusted the 5V rail and set it to 5.5V and I have also adjusted the 12V rail and set it at 13.20V.

The only one that I cant seem to find is the 3.3V to get a reading.
If I put the red probe of the DMM into a slot with either the yellow or red wire running into it.And plug the black probe of the DMM into a slot that has a black wire running into it,I either get the 5V or the 12V Rail, and no 3.3V Reading anywhere.

Can anyone PLEASE tell what I have to do to be able to get a 3.3V reading so that I acn adjust the 3.3V Rail. :)

Thanks In Advance to all who reply.

I forgot to add that i have a Antec 430W PSU.

I haven't done this myself but im about to :)

Im pretty sure that 3.3v rail is the orange wires. They are on the right side. And the 3.3v sense wire is the thinner of the wires in the top right plug/pin.

I think that your need to have a resistor in the sense line about ~50ohms and then has a 10k trimmer in parrellel with that 50ohm resistor. The other end of the trimmer is to ground.

Sounds like you followed the Guide perfectly since you are getting proper adjustment readings on the 5v and 12v rails.

@sia is correct, the 3.3v rail can be read directly from the orange wires that are running into the ATX connector. It does not matter which orange wire slot you read from.

Same as any other time you are reading a voltage....black probe of DMM goes into a slot with a black wire in it, then just hold the red probe into the ATX connector slot that has the orange wire in it. Now, here is the problem, once the ATX connector is plugged into the board, you cant use your DMM to check the voltage on the 3.3v rail at that point. You can however use the other "odd" connector to check your 3.3v rail anytime you like.

The connector is flat, and has 6 wires running into it. 3 black wires, 2 orange wires (3.3v), and 1 red wire (5v). The slots are kinda small, but with a little effort you can shove the DMM probe into the slot. You can now check the 3.3v rail from there easily.

Here is a pic showing what actual connector looks like. This pic shows 2 voltage readings, and what you need is obviously the one on the left.

Hey hell-fire

I only have 1/4W resistors and I use an antec Truepower 480W. Am i gonna need to get a bigger resistor? Or can i just try the mod without the resistor there?

Btw i know you said you were gonna do your next antec psu mod without the 47k ohm resistor. I can test it on mine if you are confident that it will work. :)

BTW im only gonna do the 3.3V line atm. As im only bottlenecked by vcore and vdimm. I have also taken those photos of my socket area. I will get them sent out soon :)

Thanks soo much.

craply doddlie.

I have been using my pc for the last 12hours at full cpu load and i didn't have my 2nd 12v atx plug connected to my mobo.

HMMM, do i really need it hmmmmm

Thanks @sia and Hell-Fire,I now have it all sorted and will be able to get it up and running properly.

I now know what that flat power conector with the funny end is for Hell-Fire,checking the 3.3V Rail. :)

The only thing is I cut the bloody thing off when I did the mod as it never gets used,I'm now very  but anyway you can't help bad luck.

Thanks once again for your HELP. :toast: :toast:
