I just happened upon 8 PII 450s, but right now I only have a dual mobo and a single mobo, and both of them are already occupied by PIIs.

I need a mobo that uses SDR ram because I have 4GB of it right now.

If a mobo like I want doesn't exist, what is the best dual PII mobo? I'll just have to buy 4 of them.

I always wanted to try folding on a 8 way machine though.

don't you have to have Pentium 2 Xeon to have SMP? Or is that just how Intel is doing things now with the Xeons :(

Nope, thats just for P4 era CPUs. I have a dual PIII rig using normal PIIIs, and a dual PII with normal PIIs. Xeons just have more cache.

ok...I never knew what the difference was in between the two....so Pentium 2 Xeons have 1mb of L2?

I think I have even seen some with 2MB.

wouldn't PII Xeons be Slot 2 not Slot 1? I'm not really sure what the difference is between the slots, but i would guess that you wouldn't be able to use a slot 2 motherboard with slot 1 processors (could be wrong, of course).

I have a dual PII 266 setup on a dual Slot1 Motherboard, so they do make them, but it may be hard to find these days.

Don't use .tks. The company adds lots of popups to them. (It doesn't affect most people, but I'm pretty sure there at least a few unenlightened people still using IE)
