After Vcore (1.95V) on my 128Mb Sapphire 9800Pro (256Bit) overclock of mem down from 393 to 375 :(
Mem on my 9800 - Hynix 2.8
Core chilling by TT 10+. Temp no more then 50C.
My card on 9800Pro PCB.
Om mem no radiators.

Please, help! I don`t know what is it!

try ther vddq mod too

edit: oh and welcome to xtremesystems.

i had the same problem but only found out about the vddq mod after selling the card

Flytek Thanks for welcom :)
Yes, I think, that Vddq cam help too, but it`s mach Risk to lose guarantee on card. Vgpu I did whithout solid. Just my card so shabby, that I do not whant to do more shabby. Because I whant do upgrade soon.
And I heard, then not many cards not die after Vddq :(

vddq can also be done with smd grabber i think

VDDQ mod is bloody useless

raising from 1.45V default on my card to 1.5 gave me nothing but artifacts

Vik, overvolting the R9800pro can make the memory clock worse due to increased temperature on the GPU core. The memory chips' overclockability is somehow linked with the GPU core. This is why cooling the core is so important. The more you cool the GPU, the better off your memory clocks will be.

Some r9800pro cards i've experimented with always gave great result.. Memory clocks of 400+ without mem vmod. The GPU was supercooled. I got pretty much the same result. This works quite the same way with other type of vid cards as well.

yeh, cause big air cooling will give off loads of heat right onto the memory

this is an smd grabber http://www.emulation.com/catalog/off-the-shelf_solutions/debugging_accessories/smd_grippers/clip_to/square_pin_clip/107_R2.jpg
it 'grabs' a pin on an IC, so u dont have to solder to it

2 problems that could be happening

1. GPU is generating more heat thus heating up memory and reducing OC on mem
2. The GPU core is requesting more power from the board and the integrated power management on the 9800pro is having a harder time coping with the power draw, and thus giving less wattage or less voltage to the memory chips, in turn decreasing your memory OC.

50C seems a bit hot for running at 1.95v. darring voltmod imo.

im having power issues with my 9500pro as well

when the mem clocks are low the GPU can do 440
when mem clocks are at theyre bench stable max, gpu can only do 405-410

:( :(, i dunno what to do
