hmm....now, i want to "pre-prepare" me for the 939-DFI and look for GF6800Ultras @PCIe to replace my AGP-card at the release-time.....but how i see (in germany) there isn't only one store, which has them....only X800XT @ PCIe, but i don't want a Radeon :D
ok, they've the same performance and the price is about 520€ (so, a "normal" price), but i've my principles and just won't miss my lovely Ultra :D
so, are there any news of a (real) release-date for them, or are they even available in the US for example? :)

PCI-e isn't faster than AGP
So wait and see how the ppl at xs think about them after their tests !
But I think in Austria at xtremesystems.at can be PCI-E Cards !
Übrigenz, wenn sie keine haben schreib ihnen, kriegen eigentliche alles "extreme" sobald es am Markt is !

That was a very confusing post.

i know that they aren't just one fps faster....but, i want to prevent any complications......i don't think, that DFI will make their board a "only-PCIe"-board, but will set a AGPort on it, too.....but u can't know.....so, i just want to know ;)

agp is considerably faster than PCI-e in preliminary benches that ive seen
The only reason I'm waiting for PCI-E vid cards is for future purposes. PCI-E is replacing AGP so if I have a PCI-E card, at least I know I'll be able to use it in future upgrades. Maybe that's what he's doing.

I read almost every benchmark on the net compraing pci-e and agp, nvidia-nvidia and ati-ati, ati-nvidia and the agp was faster in any test... by a pretty big difference...

There are backordered eVGA 6800U PCI-E at Gameve...
Gawd I hope all of them won't be so expensive (666$).
I'll just wait for now :)

Yes, it's a good store.
It's in the US... That sucks, because I don't live in US too.
No biggie anyway we'll wait for 6800PCX's from other brands and lower prices :p:

Good store :) Get more than half my stuff from there as it is about 15 miles off of my home. Not to mention got a friend working there :) Unless they don't have exclusivity of certain item, their prices are quite reasonable. Probably one of few place where you can get winchester 3200+ atm.

PCI-E will be faster than AGP x 8 its just to new at the minute for systems to take full advantage of them, when the new mobo's come out and SLI etc hit the market in a big way they will phase out AGP as its old technology.
(((The PCI Express is a much more favored bus over AGP8x. Its a totally different architecture, and won't be compatible with each other. The PCI Express x16 bus has an 8.0GB/sec transfer rate with the chipset controller, whereas the AGP8x bus has only 2.1GB/sec. That alone should prove how much better potential PCI-ex has.
However, PCI-ex is a layout used with the Intel 915P/925X chipset families, so it might not be seen in AMD systems for a while. For that, AGP versions might be available for AMD systems for the time being.)))
