X800 VDDQ mod, take a look

I havent seen any guides on the mod, but i know its a 20k vr between pins 5 & 7, here the guy has connected the 3rd leg of the vr to a resistor on the board, can anyone tell me why he has done it like this? same with the VDD mod, but its hard to make out where.

He is grounding the trimmer on that resistor so it stabilizes voltage.

BTW, I dont recommend putting the VR on top of a Vreg as if it gets hot you will insulate it and keep it from releasing heat efficiently.
