I've been drooling over this mouse for a while! And I've managed to find it in the same price as the MX700 here in Greece...Hopefully I'll have it next week!!

its cordless, and while I am sure its the best of the cordless variety, the wired one is still better for gaming IMVHO. MX500 that I use is still more precise and 'right-now' feeling compared to a MX700. Laser is kewl though.

Got mine today!!This mouse is REALLY sweet!
My previous mouse was an MX500 and I can say that the MX1000 is MORE accurate!
I don't have an MX510 to compare it with but my guess is that the difference between the two won't be so noticeable (both of them have the same sampling rate - with the MX1000 having the advantage of the new laser tech and the MX510 having the advantage of being wired).
I was very happy with the comfort of the MX500 but I have to note that this one is even better! It's shape fits right into my hand.. Of course it's quite heavier than the MX500 (battery and stuff).
So, when ergonomics come to play, the MX1000 is way better than my MX500 - at least for my hands!!It has some extra buttons as well which, to be honest, I haven't got used to yet!
I can't say much about energy comsumption since I only use it for about 15 hours. I'll just say that the indicators show it's still fully charged.
I can keep you up to date about battery life and even post some photos if someone is interested!

Can you check if all the extra buttons actually work in games?
I've never gotten my mx700's extra buttons to work in games, which would be the only reason I'd buy an MX1000.

I've read it sucks, but i wont use a cordless again, my RF wireless m$ was to laggy (the KB worked fine tho..)

Dissolved, you can't even begin to compare the Fast RF technology logitech uses to that of M$....
lalPOOO I'll try and let you know!I haven't tried it yet. Only played Frozen Throne for a few hours.

Didn't find to time to play some FPS games yet!Sorry lalPOOO!! :(
I just wanted to inform you that, by default, the mouse's "back" and "forward" buttons don't work with alternative browsers (MyIE, Firefox are the ones I've tried and know for sure about it).
The solution is pretty straight forward.
Just change the settings for those two buttons, through Setpoint, from "back", "forward" to "general use buttons" (I'm not sure about the exact term used about the later setting because my Logitech software is in Greek). This way the buttons will work with all browsers.
i have a MX500 and the all the buttons work for games (i use em for CS)...
but i had a MX700 before the MX500 ...and i simply hate cordless, they are too heavy.

seriously if your a gamer, SAVE YOUR MONEY. this mx1000 laser mouse is laggy compared to my mx510. it does have a very good grip and it feels good in your hand. but im telling you the truth, from the exact second you move the mouse there is a noticable moment before the mouse pointer moves on your screen. if your looking for the best mouse its either an mx510 or the new razer mice that are coming out. but they wont be out till nov http://www.razerzone.com/
oh and the sampling rate on the mx1000 only tops out at 120-125 hz compared to the mx510 at 200 hz

lalPOOO, my extra buttons work. They are just MOUSE_* buttons. You just need to find which ones are which and bind them. I can play Counter-Strike without a keyboard on my MX510 hehe. As for the MX1000, cordless stuff is always risky for gamers as if it loses signal, then you will surely lose the game unless you are playing with a bunch of n00bs. Oh, and if the battery runs out in the middle of a game, you will vunerable to n00b AWP attacks. Well, in CS anyway ;)

Hmm, those Razers look nice... someone write a review up when the come out ;)
My friend got a MX1000 recently, I might take it out for a test spin. I've never been a fan of wireless though.

Im still getting the Razer DiamondBack,
It's the mouse that gamers really need and waited for.
1000hz default samplerate, 16bit, 1600dpi... WOW.
