it will be playable in 1-3weeks. they are releaseing it early, so it doesnt rape the servers when it goes gold and playable.. when Source came out you could DL and play it, but there were so many DL's that all the soruce servers kept crashing and lagging out. So i think they learned there lession.

i've tryed to get it, but the servers are being hammered..

you need the hl2 cupon, or have bought cs:cz to get the CS source beta, and you need the cupon to get hl2 pre-load.

you dont need any coupon to get hte free pre load actually, it is , free

you will need to pay for it to "unlock" the game

EH I'm getting 2 MBPS download on the pre-load, I hit the pre-load button when I read this.

I got the HL2 voucher even though I don't own or plan to own anymore ATI cards :D

maybe...but the preload doesnt included the entire game, so I dont think they are worried about ppls hacking into a partial game. Its textures and sounds mostly.
