I thought as the thin floppy connector on R9500 limits the power, maybe the cards that don't have a power connector at all also need additional power for better overclock. Is there a way to add a molex connector for example on FX 5600XT or 5700LE and where to solder it? The "ultra" variants of both cards have additional power connectors, and that is the main thing that made me think for higher clock speeds i need more power :D

Not likely as the engineers designed them without circuitry for the power connectors...unless you see on the card where a connector could be soldered.

BTW, the cards with the floppy connectors can be rewired with a molex and would prob respond better. Think that STEvil did that on his 9700Pro and it helped to stabilize that card.

Yes, i did that too on radeon 9500 pro, i soldered additional molex connector on the back of the card and i plugged both connectors and that helped for about 15 mhz more on the memory ...
But i was curious if that can be done on some FX cards too :D
