Saw something like that. Do you think that can power a 226 on the CPU and a 110 on the GPU? Looks like it'll run them fine at 15v, but I need feedback from you guys. Thanks :)

Great :)
Looks like a steal for $15. Thanks for the reply, saaya.

I dont know the tolerance for the TECs module itself, but make sure 15v/45AMP isnt to high or itll cook the TEC so to speak.

I have difficulty believeing that supply will deliver on the sellers claims. Just to satisfy my curiousity Underware, when you get it, please update this thread with model #, pics if you have a cam, and any other findings..
Thanks

15v should be okay, maybe a tiny bit high. I'll be sure to update this thread, though.

Also, I asked him where he found this and I got a reply of:
This came from a Honeywell building automation system. XLplus Panel.
Erm...

what I'm saying is the physical size of that thing seems way off for it to be able to produce 45 amps @ 15 volts, even for a switching PSU, it simply looks to small.
Honeywell assembles/maintains automation/security systems, sounds like this thing was from one of those.

look carefully at where the decimal places are :)
5v@4.8A
24v@1.25A
-15v@.45A
+15@.45A
that is just a copy paste, but without the underline looks a bit different eh?

Oh man...good point there. Crap, can I retract a bid?

God damn it...looks like I can't do anything about it. $15 plus shipping wasted... :(

Uhh... 0.45A on the +15V line isn't going to cut it. Answer is NO! ;)

LMAO, oh man, I know my tired a$$ eyes need glasses, but damn  Sorry you seem to have wasted a few bucks there Underware :( I just knew that thing couldn't possibly do 45 amps... Sorry I didn't see the decimal point sooner.

Ah...well at least it wasn't too much money. That damn underline!
Don't worry about it, Karnivore.

Just a thought...would a Meanwell 320-12 be able to handle 226 and 110 watt peltiers?

Sucks to be me? Not really...I'm quite happy with my life. It's $15. I'm not going to let that make me miserable.

Agreed, plenty of deals out there, $15.00 isn't much, never know what the supply might be usefull for in the future, and even if it ended up in the garbage....
But hey Typhoon, Great usefull post by you

Just went and looked at the desciption again, dayum, those sure are some tiny decimal points... Makes me wonder if the obscurity of them was intentional...
Even if they aren't sure can't feel to bad, those are pretty easy to miss...

Thanks for the support, Karnivore.
Yeah, so I'll just deal with it. I found a nice Meanwell 320-12 for $60 shipped and it should be arriving within a week :)

I intended to answer that question as well, but got sidetracked
That Meanwell should do nicely for the larger single pelt, but adding the other to it would probably be to much, If you have a decent PSU for your PC that may be able to take the GPU pelts load....

Okay, I see. I'll use my backup 350 watt ATX PSU then. Thanks for all the help!

Don't worry about it, saaya. I sent him a nice e-mail regarding his auction. I thought it was unfair and deceptive...let's see what happens. As I said, I won't be distressed over $15.

BTW, I ordered an Enermax 550 watter with 36A on the 12v line to accomodate my two TEC's. The Meanwell was too expensive and wouldn't even be able to handle both TEC's so hopefully this badass Enermax will work out.
I doubt that Enermax can handel ur whole system, AND both ur TEC's (is this wot ur trying to do?)
i have a similar enermax with 33A on 12v and runs my whole system + GPU TEC. i wud hook the CPU pelt to its own PSU

I just want to use the Enermax for my TEC's and I'll keep my existing PSU for my system itself. I think it should work that way.

Awesome. I just talked to the eBay seller that his description was deceptive and unfair and now I don't have to pay. Good call, saaya!
