This is what the Alu block on my LRWW looks like, thanks to the stupid metal barbs supplied with the block stripping off the anodized coating:-

Ive already posted this on another forum by the way.
Since looking at subsequent blocks from Dtek, they have replaced the metal barbs with plastic to prevent this scrubbing and subsequent corrosion. I emailed them 2 weeks ago and have had no reply.
I need a replacement top before i can use the block. Cathar gave me a nice link (www.logiccooling.com) to a shop in the states that sells proper copper tops but theyve been on 'holiday' for 2 weeks now and dont appear to be coming back.
Ordering a replacement top from Dtek is stupid; im in the UK and they want THIRTY DOLLARS to ship to the UK. If im paying that price plus another $15 for a Poly top which will probably crack anyway id rather get a copper top.
Has anyone got any other places i can try?

hmm - only other US stockest i can think of (cooltechnica) is even worse for shipping i believe....
you could try one of the UK sellers:
http://www.coolercases.co.uk/
http://store.over-clock.com/
even if they don't carry spares they might be able to add it to their next shipment.....
or look for a trusted person who lives near enough to collect it and post it too you USPS...... an 8oz package to the UK by global priority mail (4-6days) is $8
you can get ally replacements too ($19.50 +$4.50 for barbs) but the logicooling ones look nicer..
you could try emailing them....but they have been "on holiday" for a long time....

a month maybe? - i'll try and find the thread (in some forum or other) where it came up - they were definitely around and sending emails at the start of june i believe.....
the site says a "couple of weeks" so they will come back soon.

I hope so.
Any idea how much the copper tops cost approx?
No. But shipping to UK will be a bomb.
I wud just scrub the Original oxidized ALU top down, repaint it ...and slap her back on ...i dunno wot the big fuss is to be honest. Sure i wud get it replaced and send it back if i cud, but otherwise try restore it.

when i was looking earlier this year the cost was $27 inc barbs, or $37 for a polished version.......
shipping was actual USPS charges - (which would be $8 or less i reckon.)
payment by paypal accepted.
