Starting Friday we can pre-order the new motherboard everyone is wanting...I know I am going to be one of them. Everyone needs to go to ZipZoomFly.com and preorder them there. DFI told me there are going to be MRSP at $129.99 and ETA Ship date is Sept. 2nd. I know I will be one of the first to get this!!! w00t!

It is really going to be uber!

Yeah...it is going to be under the Motherboard section and then select DFI as the Manufacture...

ZipZoomFly is awesome as well...I love there Free 2 Day Shipping and they are cheaper then NewEgg alot of the times when it comes down to it as well.

I noticed Newegg creeping up in price slowly over the last few months. Lots of stuff always out of stock. They do have a local warehouse in La Puente, which is extremely close to me, so when i order, i get things within a day.

Be weary of Mwave's description of Athlon64 CPUs. I bought a 3400 from them that specified on the product page that it had 1MB L2 cache, but I received the wack Newcastle instead. They almost charged me the 15 percent restocking until I argued my way out of it.

Yes, Of course there are CO steppings that do really well. Look at the one tony used for the 425 ht record. You're also only using 512. I'm just saying CG's generally are known to oc higher and they handle 2x512 better due to the mem controller. My co 3200claw crapped out at 250(not stable) and my CG mobile does 2.57 stable. If my mobo had some more vcore, I think I could push it even further.

Contacted DFI sales and they state 129 MSRP. They state they are unaware of the inoperable pre-order (in fact a back order) button and have contacted Zipzoom fly as well. Preorders according to DFI will be filled prior to shipments for others.

Kind of difficult with pre-order not working.

Wonder if Zip Zoom Fly is raising the price due to the large number of non functioning pre-orders?

Silver

As an outlet source that is not brand new, I have a little difficulty with this but Zip Zoom is saying that they are having trouble getting their software to accept pre-orders.??

At any rate, on the price the following portion of e-mail:

Thank you for the feedback. Due to the free shipping offered, they
decided to add the cost back into the selling price. For those who live
further away from CA will find this a saving. However, for those who are
nearby, they probably won't save that much.

Further e-mail,

The "Backorder Button" is essentially the "pre-order" button. It is just
the way they call it in their system. Like I mentioned in my previous
email, I have reported the bug, and they are fixing it right now. I
guess they needed to have the back end logic sorted in order to still be
able to ship certain in-stock items out while maintaining the pre-order
items. Don't worry though, this is a top priority for all of us and we
are doing our best to get it working ASAP.

Thank you so very much for being patient! This is our first time doing
it and so apologize for the hiccups. Next time, we will be better at it
:)

This from DFI in response to non-working zip zoom fly pre-order.

Hi there

You should check this link iskall http://forum.sweclockers.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=324425

I’m currently looking around for online resellers that will ship to Sweden. But no luck.

One idea is to ask somebody here at Xtreme systems fore maybe help with buying the product and then ship it to us. But RMA and other things like that would be quite difficult.

Im in south korea and I dont think the DFI will ever arrive here. :( DFI is very unpopular here no AMD boards at all from them and only 3 intel boards. But thats the whole problem here people dont even like AMD its extremely hard to even get a 3200+ A64 pretty sad... Home to some of the largest electronics markets and they cant even get good CPUs...

Even though DFI is Taiwan based company its a shame its own citizens dont even get the chance to buy these new products. Only after 3-4 months after Northamerica. On the other hand Northamerica is the biggest tech market so its only practical they get the new stuff 1st... Basstages.... :D

True. My original plans were to get a socket 939 based system. I was in Slovakia where the highest they had at that time (1 week of august) was a 3400+ So I decided that on my way back to Korea when we have a tranfer in malaysia - Kuala lumpur, I would get a 3500+. TO my shock I didnt find the sortiment there being much different than slovakia. HELL they build all those chips there cant they get a few on the market??? Well so I decided that My best option would be to get a 3400 or 3200. I decide not to buy In malaysia and leave it to korea, because of easier RMA and stuff. Well when i got here an even bigger shock, all 3200 out of stock, no sign of 3400 or socket 939 at all. So I ende up with 3000+, which they keep marketing on TV as the best CPU using cut up Doom3 benchmarks from anandtech. As everythin settled I checked next week some Slovakian store and WTF do Ii see a 3500 or 3800 in stock ready to be bought!!! Now this is crazy!! A small country with barely 6 million inhabitants which is like 1/3 of the capital city here has better choice of CPUs.. Weird stuff these days

You could try reading the two main threads here about it;) But in a nutshell, first appearances make it out to be the highest clocking A64 MB. The Gigabyte K8NS Pro is no slouch either, but this looks to be better.

You also have to consider that there is some level of hype going on, and from what I know about DFI's NF2 boards, even though they clocked very high in comparision, the performance increase did not always pan out.

I can say I will grab one of these when they are available based solely on the voltage options. I have two dead Gigabyte's here as a result of modding and I want to take a break from frying brand new hardware for a bit;)

spaceman
08-23-2004, 04:59 PM
Yep, it definitely looks like 939 is the way to go. The dual channel thing is probly the main reason AMD is going that route, which makes good sense. It's just a shame that they seem to be phasing out the 1 meg L2.

ugp
08-23-2004, 05:14 PM
That 1MB is why I am glad I have a 3200+ 754 Skt...

And they still have a built in memory controller...I get higher scores with my memory on this CPU then I did before with Dual Channel

Does anyone know why DFI is releasing 939 version that late ?

I mean NVIDIA will very likely announce nForce4 sometime in September (if not October), and what their logic behind releasing nForce3 when nForce4 is announced ?

I thought Nforce4 only supports PCI-express. That means if the dfi only came out for Nforce4, you would be forced to upgrade your agp card too. Nforce4 Nforces you to upgrade your video card! lol!

slavik
08-24-2004, 09:35 AM
EXACTLY!!!

all nForce4 gives over nf3 is PCIe and expansion of other features ...

I think that nForce4 is nVidia's chipset to sell their SLI cards for PCIe ...

other than that, nForce4 is nothing ... and I just got an x800, so I am not letting go of AGP ...

ugp
08-24-2004, 09:36 AM
I am not looking forward to going PCI-Express...I dont have the money to do so..

GreyBeard
08-24-2004, 10:02 AM
And atm, PCI-E offers no speed benefit over AGP. So I don't see the NForce4 being really popular until PCI-E cards are faster than AGP. The number of people who would want it just for SLI or Soundstorm are probably limited.

ugp
08-24-2004, 05:59 PM
