win2000...sp2 or sp3?

Hey guys, I'm running win2000pro without any sp, many of the members recommend SP2, but isn't SP3 the newest? And how much gain would I see from no sp to sp2 or 3?

SP3 is the newest but I think I've read of it giving worse 3DMark scores than SP2...can't remember where I read that...hopefully someone else can confirm :)

From my benching it seems SP2 is the better choice, I found no gains using SP3 and yes, in fact, a slight decreae in performance:)
