thats a tough choice, from experience the 9500pro IS worse at dx8/7 games but it is slightly better in dx9....
i'd get the ti4600 tho... unless you plan to run the 9500pro overclocked 24/7.. then it would be better but not much

romastar, ti4600's dont even support dx9..
if that 9500 pro is 256-bit go with it.
Agree with r3b0rN...
OT: Darn i like your picture in your avatar... Hehe...

r3born, what i ment was that in a more complex game, such as doom3.. it could be better

Raw speed wise the Ti4600 is faster, it just doesn't support DX9, which really won't be a big deal, because neither of those cards are going to run high end DX9 games "fast" anyway. Fast meaning, with all the eye candy and AA/AF on.

id still take the 9500pro, it will eat the ti4600 if you use aa/af and itll be right behind it without aa/af but the dx9 eyecandy should edge it over. also it has ps2 support and would be more futureproof. This speaks alot comming from a ti4200 lover too. Itll be slower in older games and 3dmark 2001 but faster in 3dmark2003 and alot of future games. also I have seen 9500 pro cores overclock like crazy. were talking 350MHz easy, maybe even 400MHz with some good vmods and high end air cooling.

I would get 9500pro too :)
I own one and its cool overclocker, but still need vmod for rams .
max speeds @ the mom:
425 core (1.65V - stock vent to 403)
340 ram
BTW Blinky hows your 9500pro project going ?

my god! those are some of the best clocks ive seen for the 9500 pro! No ti4600 will touch those clocks without a prometeia!

Im not done yet :) still needs more Volts.
BTW Jeff had his at:
455MHz(core)/376MHz(memory)
Thats nice...
But GFTI4200!!! READ THIS!!!:
Look at his sys... 402/334Mhz and he only gets 17XXX in 3dmark01... My 9800pro@stock woops that...
And thats a DX7 benchmark... Im 2000 points over in 03... And 10000 in AQ3...

Mini sure u cant compare 9800pro with 9500pro since 9500pro has only 128bit memory and 9800pro has 256bit. So its the memory that kills my scores :(
And thx for reminding me to update the sig. Need beter cpu though :(
