I thought the hole pattern was suppose to be different, but upon taking off my heatsink of my 6800 today, I found some holes that looked familiar, and sure enough, my regular old Maze 4 GPU block fits right on my 6800.

is this unique to EVGA cards, or are other people finding thier old waterblocks fit thier 6800's just fine too?

I always heard the 6800's have a different hole pattern, hence you need a new waterblock for it, but for the EVGA, it's the same as always, just the plain old Nvidia hole pattern.

I was under the impression they were different. It might just be the evga cards, did it use the reference design layout and heatsink?

The BFG didn't fit, but only by a few mm.

How are the temperatures on it? I just picked up one of the evga 6800nu's at microcenter on clearance, and it clocks to about 400/915 on the stock cooler. I'm hoping that with increased vcore, the Maze4 can take the heat it puts out.

yes, seems just like any other 6800, except it's definatly different from the 6800 GT in that link you showed, see its definatly got the old Nvidia holes, right beside the 4 hole cross pattern that that person modded thiers to.
this card has definatly got "extra" holes, for the older Nvidia waterblock pattern.

it might just be EVGA, I don't know...

How are the temperatures on it?

I went from 52C to 42C.
and a max OC of...

424/840 to 445/855.

just a word, the ram sinks on the EVGA are an absolute neccessity in my case, without them I lost 40 mhz on the ram OC.
it's the most extreme case of "needing ramsinks" I ever seen.
cause without it, the card overheats very fast for some reason.

now I see why dangerden chose a core and mem cooler, instead of a adaptor for the maze 4.

I will try to get a picture of my card later, but please know, my digital camera is literally worth 30 dollars.
so don't expect crytal clarity, but I will do my best.

no dice on my PNY, just the stock holes...

why the hell can't all card makers use the same mounting holes?

Do you have a link to the bios? Does it work on 6800GT cards?

You could always just make your own WB.

My BFG 6800 definitely does not have the same holes as the prior NVIDIA products, so I took apart the stock BFG heatsink and used the copper base to fab my own WB.

Haven't had the chance to try it.

Still waiting for my MCW6002-P from Swiftech to put the whole thing together.

Will post when that happens.

hmm i have the Maze4 for ATI cards but the holes on Kunnak´s 6800 looks pretty similar to the ones on my 9800XT - anyone know if i would be able to use my exsisting ATI block on this 6800?

Even if it fit, it wouldn't cool the ram chips would it?

nope i wouldn´t but really don´t feel like spending 125$+shipping to Denmakr for a new waterblock + the 6800GT itself!
