I've just got one new Sapphire X800 Pro VIVO and you've guessed it right - it's a XT PCB with 1.6ns memory and the Rage Theater Chip....

The bad part is that when I try to flash the BIOS with the Gigabyte tool it says "This is an ATI VGA Card, Adapter 0 not found"....

And it won't let me flash the card.... anyone else with the same problem??

OK, flashrom is still able to flash it, but the pipes remain 12.... both gvf11 and atiflash won't find the card.... "Adapter 0 not found"....

What command line where you using? I had that problem the first time I tried it, but I was typing in the wrong command.

Glad it worked for ya though!

Did you manage to get the 16 pipelines??

Just got a Sapphire X800Pro VIVO for my mate 2day & did the flash & enabled the extra 4 pipes...

Wish I could say the same of this PowerColor X800Pro VIVO of mine...

BTW, the command for getting the Gigabyte bios to flash is this:

gvf11 -f -p r80x256v.f1

Works fine on 4 X800Pro that I've tried...

It should actually tell you the extra commands if you try to flash it incorrectly.

Cheers,
Minnyboy

So were you able to to get 16 pipelines or what?

Well it wasn't a wrong command... I was trying to do it like the last time.... but what I was getting was a beep and a message "ERROR 02FL01 (or something like that)... press "1" to continue".... this with gvf11.exe..... but managed to make it work and now the card is a 100% fully func X800XT PE :D

Well it's scaring me off, too.... because I had to do a bunch of sh*t in order to make it work... it didn't go like it should.... I'm almost certain, that more people will face the same problem... had to do multiple BIOS Updates with flashrom and at last with gvf11 to make it work...

Umm, you upgraded from a X800Pro to an X800XT PE for free. I wouldn't care how much trouble I had to go through...

woah ... so the x800pro vivo cards only require flashing to enable the extra pipelines??? sweeet!!! now we have to wait when x800xt pe yield is very high ;)

Yeah, but at first it looked like it's no longer doable.... you do it the right way and you get an error.... superb.

Don't play a smart guy, OK?

I think you understand it quite well, so talking like that ain't quite cool.... :)

I understand of course, I just don't see how you can complain, you paid for a X800, you got an X800. You messed around, did some flashing and got a X800XT PE. Who cares how long it took, how hard it was, you got more for free ?! The point is, it worked.

Yeah, you're right about that.... my point was, that at first it looked not doable anymore.... I had do mess around for 20mins, and not just do the "gvf11 -p -f r80x256v.f1" thing and get it done.... it didn't go like I xpected it to go.... that's why I was kindda annoyed at first....

his point is.. 20 min saved you 100 bucks or so... be happy w/ it. You bought a x800 provivio and only took 20 min to make it an x800xtpe..

I bet a thousand donuts that you had the -p -f upper case because that is the exact errors I recieved when I did that and was in shock. BTW mine is working fine.

Well... no..... did everything like it should be done.... and didn't go right at first.... had to flash to Sapphire X800XT, then to GB X800Pro, then to ATI X800XT Pe and then to GB X800XT PE... after that gvf11 didn't gave me an error and the flash process went OK...
