Hey,
Well I've been browsing through the stupidly designed ORB for over 45min now and can't find a single fx-53 and 6800 ultra stock score in 01. I am just wondering roughly what they score stock; as I just saw a x800xt score 27k stock. I am about to purchase this combo and was wondering what my chances @ 30k would be on a good water rig...

What about the BFG edition with 470mhz core stock?

Thanks!

If you are going for 30K in 3DM01, definitely get the X800XT.

My system (FX-53 and X800 XT) hits over 30k on it's 24/7 100% aircooled settings (2544MHz CPU, 424MHz DDR, VC 540/582).

Here's a 100% aircooled score:

This was closed case and quite easy. It's got more in it. I just haven't had time to bench much.

30K on an FX-53 is a walk in the park on an X800. It's probably nearly as easy on a 6800 Ultra.

your 2003 score will be higher with an x800xt too unless you use illegal null cheats :stick:

thanks for everything guys, pi-kard, how did you find that lol.

While the x800xt is def. faster in both 3dmarks, I am buying the 6800u primarily to game. Of course, I'm addicted to benching too, but as long as I hit 30k i think i'll be happy.

I'm going to be running a good water setup (whats the best s939 a64 block? Silver TDX?) so you gotta figure 2600mhz+ on the CPU and since I'll hopefully be starting with the bfg one (470mhz stock) with a vmod (if i can ever find the damn thing, all I see is pencil mod and thats just stupid...)hopefully I'll be sittin around 490-500mhz core and maybe 1250-1300mhz memory (i'll be running the dangerden block that cools the ram as well as gpu). That should hoepefully be equal or better than the x800xt in most games as well as providing a great doom experience. Of course I have to hope I don't get duds:p:

Sorry but i don't think you're gonna hit 30K with that setup, you will with an X800.

I repeat, 30K is a no brainer on an FX. I hit almost 31K on my 3700+.

i know for sure FX-53 + X800XT would get 31K easily not sure about 6800U

even my X800pro 12pipe just cracked 31k hehe

There is someone here with 30k on a 6800U.

I don't see why it would be difficult in a rig like that.

well first, i learned how to spell other peoples names right. then, i guestimated that it would be about 25k stock, then went for all the non-intel cpus(unknown, duron, whatever the f*** they show as) within a few mhz of 2400mhz, and bam, it was actually the first one i clicked.

what gives, i dunno, if your getting 25k stock, getting 5k more shouldnt be insanely hard, evne on air. also, i see like 10x more x800xt's on the 3dmark2k1 orb, then 6800u's, so its not like we have as broad a base to judge by.

Check the orb, 30K with a 6800gt or ultra is quite a bit above average, not impossible i'd say but a hell of a lot easier on a x800 card, don't ya agree?

I'd have to say that's probably the case.

The way I see it is.... 3dMark 2001 doesn't matter for gaming at all. So don't worry about it. It should be your 3dMark 03 that you're worried about. Try getting 18K. (of course you'd have to find some way to disable the throttling).

X800s are benchers' cards... that's it.

Yes, the X800 are better in 2k1 but I disagree on your comment about them being solely a 'bencher's' card. Just because the 6800's run DOOM3 a little better doesn't make them better 'gaming' cards in general than the X800's. :2cents:

Sure its easier on the ATI, but is that surprising?

They have always done better in 3DMark2001.

The technology on these new cards is no different than the previous 2 generations. Its just hyped up to the next level.
