Well, got the Gigabyte 9700 2 weeks ago but wasn't impressed with the oc. Only 375-380 core and 332 mem. Really disappointed.
So I sold it yesterday and got me the Hercules 9700. Much better choice, I should have bought this one from the beginning. :)
Anyway, after a fresh install of WinXP, oc'ing the card and 3Dmark was next. (of course)
This sucker oc's very good, I can bench at 396/354, with only some small artifacts in Nature. Core craps out at 400 Mhz. Still not bad.
IT7 with a 2.4B at 3159 Mhz, PC3200 C2 at 234, 2-7-2-3, Enhanced OFF. Card was oc'ed at 385/349, to be sure it wouldn't carsh. Ran prefect without a single artifact.
Score : 18228.
Not to bad I think, but I'm limited by the cpu and multiplier. Cpu does 3420 but lower multiplier isn't helping me. Maybe a 2.8 next month?

might depend on how fast the RMA is in germany ;)

Great score m8 ... too bad those multipliers aint unlocked on P4s eh ;)

19k will only be achievable if I would have 400 Mhz more, so a 2.8 might be a nice choice. (and money :) )
I'm at the max with my memory at this cpu speed. Maybe the mem on the card might go a bit higher, like yours.

Give 3Dmark a run on max benchable settings

Should gan a few 100 points.


I Nice Core OC. I'm guessing the hercules has a better cooler then a BBA.
Deff looks better ;)

Memory seems to artifact pretty bad at once :(
From 358 (no artifacts) to 360 gives some long lined artifacts

Artifacts start at around 356 Mhz. Maybe when it gets colder in the room, it might go higher. Winter is coming, should help though. :)

Little update :
Gained an extra 300+ points now, almost 18600. Not to bad for a sub 3.2ghz system.:)

I'm utterly annoyed here .....
Sure hope that 2.8 Gig gets RMA'd soon in germany.... dunno how much longer I can stand my computer so slow ;)
