OKay...so im running a nice rig...it runs my games beautifully...I install Doom3...and it causes a hard lockup on the first splash screen loading the game. So i reinstall the game...still no go, I reinstall windows, all my drivers, update everything, then reinstall the game....stilll no go. I open the game, it gets the the first splash screen, and hard locks my system, anyone else getting this problem??? really frustrating, i just wanna play

Hmm interesting, my setup has been running the game flawlessly upon hours on end.

I'm also using Direct X 9.0C and 4.7 Catalyst's.

Update your ATI video drivers and try again.

I had similar problems, illegal error messages when it loaded. I got the latest drivers & everything is good now.

I've run the 4.9s on a couple different machines and haven't had a problem.

The 4.9's didn't play nice with my system either. 4.8's seem to be doing well though.

I had these same problems...

I had to use a No-CD hack to finally get the game to work.
this is with a full legal copy if your wondering.
the No-CD hack is just routine for me.
it's all that made the game work for me...

something about the CD check always screwed up my game.
if anyones wondering, I do have SP2 on my system.
it wouldn't be the first thing SP2 screwed up on my PC.
I can no longer watch DVD's with PowerDVD. and have to use a demo of NVDVD to play DVD"s now.
SP2 is probably what makes doom 3 not work for me.

You uninstalled SP1 or SP2!?
Isn't the problem caused by SP2:confused:
