After some Tweaking in Doom 3, in the timedemo I get these averages;

1280x1024 High x2AA/x4AF

475/900= 39fps
500/1000= 45fps
570/1100= 51fps

1280x1024 Ultra x2AA/x4AF

475/900= 34fps
500/1000= 41fps
570/1100= 46fps

I wouldn't worry about Doom 3 once its tweaked is smoothre sailing from ther on out ;)

Hey could you tell me what you get w/ no aa/af in 640/800/& 1024. Right now w/ my pro if I run in 640 w/ high quality i get 80.1 in the timedemo. But 1024 I get 50.0. Thats w/ no aa/af.

i wouldnt if i had a x800 or 6800.. but right now w/ my 9800pro im not happy w/ 50fps @ 1014. It wouldnt be AS bad but im really picky about my crosshairs always being smooth w/o ne mouse lag. Thats why I run it at 640 now.

Go with the 6800GT, in the long run you'll be happier, I plan on doing SLI asap so I needn't worry about which was faster.
