i dont have a LED thermomator but the compressor feels very warm. Right now im just testing it on my old(and presumed dead but working) nf7-s 2.0 and a xp2100 tbred B without a hdd or anything just the bare min and look'n at bios.

I cant plug both the reset and the power connectors to my mobo as they will not fit, so at present im running the mach 1 off a old PS and turning on the PC when temps hit -33c. got into bios and cpu temp read 9c but we all know how accurate they are but the lcd came up from -33 to -30 while sitting in bios. So i just shut it down and let the compressor cool off.

So is the compressor supposed to get that hot? And the temp increase while only sitting in bios puzzles me a little bit, and im slightly worried about that.

Tighten your mounting hardware down.

Yes, compressors get hot, hotter than you can touch isn't rare.

im not concerned about my cpu temps right now, and the fact that my evap temp went from -33 to -30 with in a couple of minites and the processor was only running at 100x13 is whats bugged me and the temp of my compressor, i couldnt keep my hand on it for more than 15~20 seconds.

Since the compressor temp is normal i guess its just the evap temp thats bothering me now. If i had bad contact i would think i would get the opposite results.

Well just pulled off the evap and contact was perfection if ive ever seen it.

I'll try running the mach 1 again off the old junk PS with nothing else like i did yesterday, went to -46c in about the time it took to smoke a cigarette. seemed to take alot longer while it was stuck on the board.

ok there's a problem here somewhere. to save time i'll do a full recap.

used mach1 arrived the 4th.

Powered on with no load, just to see frost and the lcd went to -46 c in under 10 minites(didnt time it or anything). Yup nice thick layer of frost. reverse led blink'n on the unit all fine

That was cool so i powered down the unit.

Yesterday after work i decided i'd stick it on a old axp system i put together out of spare parts since i had a amd kit. Since im wait'n on my amd64/fx kit.

xp2100 tbred B/nf7-s 2.0/1 stick sammy pc2700/R900pro.

Got everything hooked up, powered the mach1 off a seperate PS. Waited till the evap hit -33c and powered on the PC. Seemed to take quite a while longer to hit -33c than it took to hit -46c. reverse led still blinking.

Got into bios check'n temps, sensor said 1c and started to climb to 9c or there abouts, evap temp had risen past -30 and climbing so i powered down the system. Noticed the compressor was very warm. But aparently thats normal.

Let it completely cool down. Hooked up the reset/power leads and powered up the system by the book. The reset lead was not seated properly and it tried to boot on start up(stupid mistake), Compressor kicked on and machine started to boot and shut down imidiatly. removed the power lead so i just had the hold reset lead on. Cant fit both those leads on my nf7-s 2.0 as the plugs are to thick oddly enough.

Powered it back up But took a very long time for temps to drop, all fans were spinning normaly. After about 10~15 minites and still on the + side of zero. Removed the evaporator from the kit to try completely unloaded again but was late so i let it sit till this morning.

This morning i decided to power it up unloaded to see it make frost. But it takes a very very long time to drop in temp. maby 20 minites to drop to only 6c lower than the evap temp at startup. Let it sit maby 10 minites longer and was still only +14c evap temp from a starting point of 24. Noticed the reverse led was no longer blinking, nothing blinking . Compressor still very warm so i shut it all down. Also the house'n of the evap was slightly warm, the evap itself was cool to the touch tho.

Whats wrong? i havnt done anything to it, both the fans were working every time it started up. Something changed after i initialy powered it on with a chip under it. Ive gone through the manual and everything seems to be in order.

Help would be very much appriciated.

well that has nothing to do with the compressor getting hot ;)

new problem. lol. I dunno it may have leaked im not sure.

**edit**
Im now fairly confident it aquired a leak last night. Now after work the evap temp doesnt drop, it increases. From 22.8c to 24c and then back to 22.9~23c. I can still hear the boiling/simmering sound in the head tho and checked flex line and everything appears to be okay but its obviosly not. Only thing i can think of is it leaked, anyone offer any easier/faster to fix reasons?

Must have weakened a joint somewhere in shipping but still held for the initial power up/test. When installing it just gave.

Real bummer to because my a64/fx kit i payed to have overnight shipped got here today too.:( :shakes:

Guess its gett'n packed up and sent off to chilly1 for repair/recharge to r404 or r507 unless im completely missing something or off the mark. It was bound to happen anyway but i wanted to at least play with it for a couple a weeks first.

See if there is dust in the coil. Maybe that or you may have a tiny leak. Has it been modded?

the condenser coil is free, i looked clear and i hit it with some compressed air and a few unseen dust bunny's flew out but no where near enough to clog up the condesner. Double checked that the condenser fan was running properly since the previos owner spliced on a 3 pin fan connector. Running at 12v all is well.
tried 2 other power cords with the same effect.

Could it be a problem with the controller? I understand that there is a heater in the evap head insulation to prevent condensation. Could it be kicking on to soon?

I just wish i could find the leak so i knew for sure.

Oh and no it still on r134a, only mods seem to be the condensor fan with a standard 3 prong plug connector.

Thanks
