Playing with DDR2 more and here is what I have come up with.
Centon DDR2 w/ Micron TinyBGA
Centon DDR400 3-2-2-4 400Mhz 1:1 is faster than
BH 5 2-2-2-5 400Mhz 1:1 I875
Corsair 667 4-5-5-15 3:4
Corsair will not do tight timing at all, at least the ones I have dont. The extra 133Mhz does not make up for the slack timing.
The Corsair does not like lots of voltage and errors start around 2.2v
Sample Micron will not do tight timing.
Centon tops out around 240FSB with tight timing. Top end 1:1 290FSB, top end with 3:4 is 270 @ 720Mhz 2.6v
I am yet to find the top end of the Corsair.
Tests done on a DFI 925X-T2 in dire need of bios update
3.4EE ES @ 4.350 stock voltage
Switching over to Asus P5AD2 925X
Sandra's in @ stock then OC'd. Gonna use 3:4 for Corsair to keep it fair

Unbuffered Centon, timings are everything when it comes to DDR2. Ill swap out to the Asus board and try again as it has a 2:3 divider.

Oops, just noticed I ran at 3-2-2-5

very nice scores, so right now centon is the one to get.

I will be doing more memory testing, tight timing pays off bigtime with DDR2. I need to test some OCZ and some Kingston to find out if they can do tight timing.
I will be posting scores from the Asus tomorrow.

wow, those Centon ram has some good timings for DDR2! if i go LGA 775 , i will be lookin for those.

So DDR2 can do x-2-2? Awesome! That means DDR2 will have a chance soon.
pik-ard v1.1
08-05-2004, 07:41 PM
ya.... but its doing x-2-2 at 200mhz... im pretty sure thats still 400mhz total(or do we x4 it now? no... that cant be?)
LilGator
08-05-2004, 08:29 PM
Actually, I think it's 100MHz x 4 now :p:
Too confusing...
Soulburner
08-06-2004, 02:51 AM
That is correct, DDR2-400 would be 100x4.
pik-ard v1.1
08-06-2004, 10:47 AM
so its still 400mhz... with the same bandwidth of pc3200 at 3-2-2-<whatever it was>?
doesnt seem so impresive, unless it can keep those timings at higher mhz.

Hmmm DDR2 is Rambus all over again.

FUGGER, We are overclocking here;). For me, stock meens nothing since RAM's can do way much more then stock....

actually, the centon was at stock, the otherone was underclocked... >_>
wrench, i think its to early to say if its going to be rambus revisited. ;)

How far can you get with the asus board.
Also did you really hit 380fsb with the dfi 925x board.

360Mhz on the DDR2 with the 3:4 ratio @ 270FSB slack timing with the Centon. I will find the top end of the corsair. It should be much higher.
Trying for 300FSB DDR800 now on the Asus. My multiples are not working on the Asus and swapping out to the 2.8e
Im kinda picky, I want to post screen shots that are stable w/benches before moving on.

understood.I am going to be testing the albatron 915P board tomorrow.
I need to get another cpu.I dont want to kill the one I am using for testing.
Will test it with the albatron pcx5300.

Hello! I have been playing around with my new system and this is what I came up with in the end.
http://www.geocities.com/mxvelocty/DDR2_4-3-3-10_346-2.JPG
I lose my SATA drives if I go any higher FSB. Trying to get an answer from ABIT about it. Using the AA8 Duramax board with a retail 2.8E.

El.Padrino Welcome to XS!
You have exceeded geocities bandwidth allowance =(
You can attach the image with the "post reply" button.
Thanks EVA2000, I will be on EM64T soon. Just a little something to hold me over untill. If you have some database tests let me know.

Sandra resets back to zero after 4.3Ghz, no sandra because I lost control of multiples in beta bios 52

does this mean ya have a 3.4EE ES lying dormant ? :D

I just got back my P4C800 from RMA and my S478 3.4EE ES is about to get more abuse. The last mobo started to fall off and eventually died a horrid death when it blasted a moset off the board.
I have a 6800U to torture with it. I will post screen caps of both X800XT and 6800U at top end to show the image quality :D

That a real 5750 or a slower card like a 5350? Seems low to me for a 5700 series card.

My Asus board is bugged to hell and back after last bios update. I still dont have multipliers and a very long pause to start apps when the machine boots.
Gonna switch back to DFI where I have a sweet 2.5v to feed the DDR2
Kalway, more ram inbound for testing. two manufacturers confirmed DDR800 parts will be ready soon.

I wanna see some bandwidth on par with regular DDR. 400mhz 3-2-2-8 should be at least 3gb/sec
460mhz should be at least 3.5gb/sec

Kalway, DDR400 @ 3-2-2-4
Find me a higher score on regular DDR @ 200FSB?
Schneider
08-20-2004, 06:11 PM
I can but it might take some time. the score was like 3400MB/s @ 200FSB. Thugsrook usin a 2.4B 1GB HyperX PC3000 with like Street racer 2225 etc.
edit: nvm.....that pic is lon gone.....:(

Unbuffered I assume. Find someone with an A64 to do it. I only have an AXP right now. I've neglected to upgrade due to my car :P
I get about half that unbuffered with my KT880, though.
