I've got my 2x256Mb twinmos winbond bh-5.
The issue is that i can't reach 230fsb with them.
I've tried cas 2,5-4-4-10 but it doesn't help. The maximum vdimm is 2,7v.
Will higher voltage, ex 3,3 help it out?

Yes, you need to get some voltage to them!

Okej. what is the maximum voltage the memories can take without causing any damage? i've got heatspreaders on them

I've not had any trouble with 3.2 24/7 for months, most here have run BH5 at 3+ volts for extended periods of time with no ill effects. up to 3.3 you should be safe.....

And what happend when you put some more? Can i temporarly put some more on for benchmarking?

Sure you can, have seen 4 volt benches that the memory survived:eek: Not something I would care to do on a regular basis though :D

BH5 chips are rated for 3.6V, so they shouldn't be spontaneously dieing at anything that you can get out of your 3.3V rail. I have even given them 3.7V and they worked fine.

like said above they can take alot of volts but you shouldnt need 3.3v's for 230fsb, probably 2.8-3 id say, my Mushy so far has done 220 @ 2-2-2 @ 2.8, and i just put it at 2.8 for the sake of it

" BH5 chips are rated for 3.6V,"(as said by Craig588)
May i ask where you got this info from ???

Winbond's white papers on the IC's say so.

That is correct, Winbond's specs says that BH-5's are rated for 3.6 volts. I have ran 3 dryice tests with my current setup now, each lasting about 2-3 hours. Always giving 3.6 volts to my BH-5's, and they are still making the same 260Mhz 2-2-2-5 as they did at first. Should be safe, as long as there is nothing else connected to the 3.3V line that would be hurt by too much voltage. I dont know of anything else than memories that are using the 3.3V line..
