YAY my new 2600 mobile is here and my abit nf7-S will be here tomarow

im looking at the proc now turns out i got a good stepping (so i hear), IQYHA 0401 MPMW

what should i expect out of this chip??

im hoping ofr atleast 2.7 2.8 would bbe great but if everything goes insanly awsome i hope to nail 3.0ghz

and is teh L12 mod nessicary? does it just unlock certain multipliers?

1. You will not hit 3ghz on water.
2. You might get 2.8 if you get a very nice chip.
3. 2.6-2.7ghz is probably where you will fall.
4. The L12 mod doesn't unlock any multipliers. Your board will have multi's 4-12.5 unlocked. Anything else will require shorting pins.

Edit: Sorry: saw you are getting nf7-s. All multis will be unlocked.

Look at Lastviking's aircooled 2600 mobile:

Aircooled? damn, that's a kickass chip.

Do you know what chip is that? Mobile 2600 47w or 2400 35w? stepping? week?

By the way, in that cpu-z screenie, which motherboard is using? I ask this because the known "Unknown CPU type" does not show, it reads correctly Mobile Athlon, is that a VIA board?

Apocalipsis.

probably a fully modded infinity unless he got a different board.

Yep, I saw the thread about the RPMW steppings, it's an Infinity board, but didn't know it recognize correctly the mobiles now, perhaps DFI or some bios modders out there has added the code to do it.

That's a SS not prime stable I don't believe.

I don't remember him saying he wanted a prime stable 3GHz on water ;)

last viking's air cooling is equivelant to everyone elses -20c chilled water :D

...or atleast close. Last viking runs an ambient temp of 18c when he does his overclocking...so you can't really even compare it to watercooling as his temps are below most users loops.

I bet if he gets a nice chip, 2.8GHz should be doable 24/7...

18c is actually only about 65*F. Not frigid. Just chilly.

Nope.. i have summer here know.. the temp outside is 17c-> on the night(cant bench on night) . Beching on the morning temp is about 18-22c out then. Cpu temp whit delta @ max = 35c+. So it´s not coldair.. I don´t wana think how high this will go with coldair + 2.2v. Maybe 3.05ghz->. 3.25ghz-> whit danfors sc15f (400w)"only a evapor block is mising.

Well there ya go, so 3GHz with viking's chip, is possible on water ;)

I need cold water (5c) and 2.2v to reach 2770Mhz here... wish I had Lastviking's cpu here :D
