Hi , I've been recently testing some hard disk, and overclocking a bit here and there, with Clockgen, With my old p-ata hard disk (5400 rpm 13gigs) I can overclock very nice, like 2320Mhz 1:1 with no prob, and clockgen shows mi pci bus is always 33.4 no matter how much I increase the FSB, but I did the same test with a WD raptor 36 gigs Sata, I cannot overclock more than 215 (2150Mhz) or my system crashes, and clckgens shows my pci bus INCREASES when I increase the FSB, and it cant handle nething further than 215, 35-36 pci bus.., what the hell is going on? Is that a bios matter, a nvidia driver problem? It's very weird

try booting ones "FSB" 201MHz and PCI/AGP 67MHz...

WooT! Jayl u da man m8, dunno why, but doing that , 201/67 set from bios, clockgen pci bus keeps on 33.4 Mhz now :) ! Great, 2370Mhz 1:1 so far, not bad :p!

No probs m8.
By doing that you enable the AGP/PCI locks... and that´s what you gotta do everytime you reset your bios... :D :D

The AGP/PCI Lock work well ,only when you set the AGP at 67 on the BIOS ,and with any other FSB :

My test result of the VNF3-250 :D :

How do you guys cool your chipsets? They get extremely hot on vnf3, and do you keep it at default chipset voltage or max out at 1.9?

doesn't set the voltage chipset at 1.9v beacause it's very hot and that unstabilise your system with the default cooling.

At 355Mhz FSB stable ,my vchip was at default ,and the chipset cooler is default, but my motherboard was cooled by a few ventilator :

My PC :D (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/overcrash86/Overcrash86/tmp/PICT0052.jpg) ( that is my older KV8-MAX3 ,but my VNF3-250 are in same place now ,and it work better :D )

My BIOS are here :

VN120729 (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/overcrash86/Overcrash86/3000+ 64/Chaintech/BIOS/VN120729.zip)

My HTT is x3 beacause the other are very unstable ,the HTT max with the VNF3-250 is 1065Mhz (355x3=1065 and with x4 HTT : 266Mhz of FSB max for stabilize 266x4=1064)

i Haven't tested the stability with the HTT x1 an x2 beacause they are more unstable as the other .

I hawe vmodded the board but i cant get my Muskin BH-5 too go over 224mhz... on the shuttel an50 the same memory did 270 wit 3,4v and 2-2-2-5 timings.....

Isent' the BH5 good memory for this board?

som other ting i notised is that when you raise the vmem with pot the chipset volt raises too......??

Anyone of you that have any tips?

I realy want too speed up the memory. The cpu is stable in 01 at 2945mhz 1,92v (3200+ Claw) but i must get the memory speed up!!!!

take these drivers :

AMD drivers (http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/cpudriver.EXE)

and use only one stick of memory in the bank 1 (the most near CPU )
with 2 stick of memory the systeme freez when you change the multi, and same with one stick on bank 2 or 3.

I've tested one stick of Corsair XL (chips F-TCCD) ,and the memory doesn't go over 248Mhz with 3.37v and 3-4-4-8 ,in 2-2-2-5 it block at 220Mhz, thats very bad ,but i think the corsaire have a problème with this board ,i will try to test an other stick of F-TCCD ,for test if that an problème only with corsair

And 1 and 3?

Why? Is this a bug? RMA? :D

I hope they'll fixed it in the official release

I don't know what ,but ,it's my result of test :D

the motherboard doesn't accept to change the multi with 2 stick or with one stick in the bank 2 or 3, it work only with one stick in bank one :)

Why does memory bandwith always breaks down on AMD CPUs?

With 9*253 i'll get 3,68GB/s, with 10*240 i'll get 3,74 GB/s. Look like the same with your Board.
