it is an embraco 1/5 filled with r507c and 3,20m .71mm capilary and a custom evaporator....

first i need to now a way to put it in my vga
and second a good-cheap thermometer to buy from europe...

thanks..

good job! a good way to mount it is get a piece of 1/4in plexi glass and drill a area in the center of is where your suction line goes then dill holes in it and use machine screw + nuts to attach it. srry for the bad description its a bit hard. Ill post a link in a little while.

btw what kind of hose are you using?

it is a simple hose that we use in gauges... but i braze it...

JSU
08-03-2004, 11:24 PM
um i hear that those leak eventualy and you cant use them....

Unseen
08-03-2004, 11:29 PM
on the other system it didnt leaked yet...

ps. sorry for my bad english...

nice
i like the evap that looks like a good weight not too much pressure on the gpu card to warp it

here it is how it looks from inside...

i remember that evap
you made that ages ago, did you machine it yourself or did you have someone else do it for ya

Why do you have the condensor piped in backwords? And a sightglass on the discharge line?

Unseen
08-04-2004, 04:45 AM
i think it performs the same...

Where is everone geeting the fans at? i need a smaller one for the chiller and can not find them.

Stick it on the gpu man!!We are whaiting your results!

kayl
08-05-2004, 05:26 AM
power the tec with 9v if ya can
also try sticking the hot side directly on the direct die block and make sure you use heat paste
sticking the thermometer on the side of the direct die block then insulate the hole lot
this will give a better idea of the temps might get.

also you need better clamping than cable ties, heat transfer will be very poor, you might damage that tec if not carful
try a g clamp or something

Lotec25:

Do a search on RSWWW, maplin or ebay for '120mm fan'.

wrong fan i am talking about the one on the condenser

I put it on fx5200 just for test without insulation...

this card on air from 275 can 285
on water 300 and on phase change 354

one more...

Unseen
08-06-2004, 12:32 PM
here i think it is at 15 loop...in 3dmark01

I want lower temps... maybe if i change the capilary? What diameter and what lenght?

1/5hp+507

Redwolf
08-06-2004, 03:41 PM
What are you using now.. and what is your evap pressure?

runmc
08-06-2004, 04:17 PM
If you haven't insulated the evaporator, you really need to. That would help your temps a bunch.;)

Unseen
08-08-2004, 10:37 PM
i thought that with 507 i can do -50....

Unseen
08-14-2004, 05:40 AM
with little tunning... :) :)

Unseen
08-14-2004, 05:42 AM
i think that i have to change 507 to 410... How long do u think that it must be the capilary tube?

100
08-14-2004, 05:56 AM
Unseen, what braiding is that?

Unseen
08-14-2004, 08:02 AM
what "braiding " means? Sorry for my bad english....

kayl
08-15-2004, 04:47 PM
braiding is the metal wire wound around you sution hose.
i dont think you can run straight r410.
need a blend of r410 and r290 and even a third gas to lower the pressure of the r410

ps what dimentions is that GPU block

chilly1
08-17-2004, 11:28 PM
Looks good. By the discharge pressure I thing your capillary tube is too long the suction pressure is good at that level, I would remove 10 inches of capillary tube to get the head down.

100
08-18-2004, 02:40 AM
Unseen, by 'braiding' I mean braided cloth. This is the cloth you put around your insulation (armaflex or such).

Stick 5g of R410 in, see what happens

Unseen
08-18-2004, 06:54 AM
it is armaflex :)

Unseen
08-19-2004, 03:17 AM
little update....

Redwolf
08-20-2004, 04:22 AM
Looking better...

410A is a really nice refrigerant. Lots of btu/lb, good flow rate, nice compression ratios.
Just has the higher operating pressures and that need for oil. Which is good. Just can be messy.

Unseen
08-20-2004, 05:11 AM
how long the capillary tube must be? Now i am at ~2,95meters.

Redwolf
08-20-2004, 05:17 AM
With 507 or 410A?

JSU
08-20-2004, 09:08 AM
You got me thinking about some r410a now.... but I dont think I can afford a $230 tank atm :(

Unseen
08-22-2004, 09:51 AM
@redwolf for ~160-180watt heatload with 410?

HawainPanda
08-22-2004, 10:25 AM
hey unseen, where did u get ur display?

Redwolf
08-22-2004, 11:14 AM
I really dont know Unseen.
Think your going to have to experiment on cap-tube size with 410A. Shot in the dark guess.. 2.5m
Just know that your compressor is going to be running pretty hard with 410A
