I have been playing far cry with my x800 fine for a while, but in certain areas, there is square borders around the models with a blue background (although this only happens in engine rendered cut scenes). SAme thing happens sometimes in the "Troll's Lair" test on 3dmark03. Also, in the tree top level in far cry, the trees dissappear and reappear randomly and a few artifacts occour. But, in every other level it is fine. All other games are fine. I don't have a clue what version drivers I have as the versions that ATi puts in the version string make it impossible to work it out. Although, it might be 4.3 cos with the 4.6's, some models in Half-Life didn't work properly and I fell back onto 4.3's if I am correct. Just check my 3dmark 01 score as I havent changed em since then. I am also using DirectX9c with Far Cry 1.1.

if your using dx9.0c its probably trying to use 2.0b shaders, but ur drivers dont support them. get the latest cats.

I also had the problem when running my 9800xt in 3DMark03 (the troll's lair test again and sometimes on the other tests very slightly) with DirectX9b. I havent got any screenies. But you have the model, then you have this jagged outline made up of quite bix boxes which have blue color fill and sometimes black. I also get the same problem in farcry with the 9800xt in DirectX9c. It rather look like artifacts. My 9800xt temps were 80C when I exited to windows and checked in the overdrive tab (which might not be correct). ALSO: will it work if I run PixelShader 2b shaders on the 9800 series (cos I am still playing around with my 9800xt for the moment until I cant get anymore out of it).
