my score at 3000+ speeds with ram at 200MHz ras-cas3!

ditto but ram at 250MHz ras-cas3!

Gooner's score on a 3000+ with 200fsb ras-cas2!

any comments? I will now try running my ram at like 166fsb ras-cas2 cause thats the best my ram can do at ras-cas2. Ill see if it beats my 200fsb ras-cas3 like it should!

dont run tests between two different systems, that completely voids any comparison you are try to make because there are 58 other variables that are different with his system.

test on one system with same ram, and only changing that one timing, and do 3 or 4 testt of 3dmark and take the average to get good solid results

ever take a statistics class? ;)

all the tests *except* for gooner's were on my own system. so what else could be making him own me so bad? I can see hes ras-cas2 but what else? I doubt his mobo is a via, or is it?

this is with ras-cas2 but ram at 166MHz! gonna try ras-cas3, I wonder if ill break 18k [crazy]

i hear that Cas timings on AMD systems have greater impact than P4 systems. Cas timings makes a big impact on my system as well. I wish i had ram that could do CAS2 @200mhz.

cas dont matter, ras-cas does for a64s.

Here is a chart I have compiled. The cpu is 2GHz, 9800p is stock. the variable is the ram.

250MHz ram at ras-cas3.......19867
200MHz ram at ras-cas3.......19297
200MHz ram at ras-cas2.......no post
166MHz ram at ras-cas2.......18776
166MHz ram at ras-cas3.......18515

any comments or what further testing can I do? 261 marks lost with ras-cas3 but at 166MHz!
am I right in assuming if I could do ras-cas2 at 200fsb, id gain alot more than 261 marks?

It affects them BOTH equally. It makes a good difference whether you are running tRCD 2, 3, or 4 on both platforms.

We have known that it affects the 865/875 systems a lot for a while now so I don't understand these rumors that say it doesn't matter much for Intel.

261 marks sounds about right, still a little high, i would have expected around 200,

it wont get that much bigger difference as clocks go up, maybe 30 points more difference.

Then can you explain how gooner is getting this high?

what am I doing wrong?

I was able to get about what gooner got straight off of a fresh format. My ram was at 2,2,2,5 and I used CodeRed's A64 tweaker to tweak all the other ram timings. It isn't really a fair comparison because your cpu is a little slower, and your ram can't run quite as fast.

I still want to see you run your cpu 1-1 at 248 fsb (that was the max your ram could do right?).

[EDIT]
I just noticed your compare. Why don't you put directx 9.0 b/c on your computer and upgrade to the cat 4.7's. I think that will increase your points a bit. And are you running 1T or 2T? That also makes quite a big difference.

my god, 134.3 in nature stock? thats 3fps above me! Guess ill try a fresh install on a different hdd, maybe the fact I had nvidia drivers could be messing me up, especially with my 8500. and my ram does 250MHz, I have already shown you the chart!

250MHz ram at ras-cas3.......19867
200MHz ram at ras-cas3.......19297

im running 1T, thats all the c0 a64 supports

Does a WinXP / DX9.0c / Cat 4.7 combo work better than a Win2K / DX8.1 / Cat 3.2 combo ?

Your Nature score is on par for stock clocks.

Mine was 132 fps with a 2.4 @ 3.0.

My nature likes to bounce around a lot. Currently with my X800 it keeps on getting lower and lower and...
