Hehe I had this 9800 pro since last week but I was busy finishing out the 3dmark runs on my other gpus. You may be wondering why I got a 9800 pro now and not in 2006 or 2007. Lets just say "someone" offered me one for such a good deal I just couldnt refuse and it was a price I could afford too. It was less than $150 shipped is all ill say ;)
also this thing already has adjustable volt mod resistors in place, all I need to do is turn them with a screw to increase the volts!
I am still sour over how crappy my 8500 was:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8015031
shouldnt I have gotten 13k and like 60fps in nature for my 300/320 clocks?
I have only tested this 9800 pro in 3dmark so far, I will let games work their magic on this in a few days. Yes especially farcry. I am very curious to see if this 9800 pro has a fps difference over my ti4200, if any on a cpu of my caliber. I am expecting some increase at 1600x1200 though, not sure about lower res. also I will raise this 9800 pros volts in a few days, first I will play with it some more in 3dmark :D
I do notice my nature and dragons are a few fps low for a stock 9800 pro. I have everything set to "optimial performance" but maybe I missed something. still not bad! 20.5k should be mine with stock 9800 pro soon! Some of you guys may wish to flame me for abandoning my ti4200 so soon. Nah my ti4200 will still be used for 3dmark and occasional gaming, but this 9800 pro is new king, at least in 1600x1200 it will or should be. :D

seems to scale pretty linearly with my 9800P/A64 score...
:toast:
How well does yours overclock, what core R350/360, and rams ?

432/365 clocks, but I am pretty cpu limited at this point. The faster the gpu, the more cpu limited youll be and the more cpu power youll need for great scores. My ti4200 score is where very few can achieve but I see tons of people getting my score with bartons and you a64 guys are getting 23k plus easy!

i would think you would get more w/ the a64 & a 9800pro.
Here is what my barton &9800crapnp does (crappy inf memory) 440/324

What cooling do you have on it? don't overvolt with the stock cooler.

wow Geforce 4ti 4200, nice
f i n a l l y, u got a new video card! haha, so this was the secret you were telling me about! Ha! congrats, i thought 4.3 cats were the best for 2001. your score looks right for stock, easily beating the ti 4200. the 9800 pro is a really nice card. enjoy!
Oh god, I can only wonder what ti4200 and kanavit talk about privatly
ti4200: I got a 9800 :) 30k soon!!
Kanavit: unless it was on intel it doesn't matter. it uses the super duper core lock ration voltage coreanationlationerization, that makes it 320002% faster then A64.

kanavit, does this mean you're gonna get an a64? ;) i remember talks of such in another thread, if he got a new card, you'd switch to amd.

OMG!! A new vid card??? Hell has frozen over!
Gf4, please tell me the ti4200 is still your favorite.
This is great. Hopefully we can have a separate thread for each and every one of you vid cards. Lets see now,.....that's one thread for your 9800, one for your 8500, one for your ti500, one for your fx5200 (the 44.03 driver thread) and of course several for the royal ti4200.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!

But nice going... Why dont you just OC it the hell out of here... 432/365 isnt much? Specially not mem clocks...

my 2.8ns hynix is like perfect in far cry @ 810... but the game feels smoother with it at 780... anyways g4 u should be able to get urs up to like 830 or so for a bench, and if vmodded, even more.

Actually I just bought a 9800 Pro myself for Far Cry as the 5800 was poor in some levels indoors or lots of grass. I find 1280x1024 at 4x AF but no AA the best for me with never less than 25fps so that is OK. Card running at 430 / 720.
I am hopeless benching with it, all these years of nvidia and I am like a lost puppy. Got 17k in 3dmark2001 and 6500 in 03 .. like a fish out of water. Will give it another blast tonight to see if I can hit 18k .. fancy a race ?

LOL your own ti4200 is owning that 9800 pro of yours! I already am less than 100 from 22k and I think I can pull over 23k with this :D youll learn fast with the ati wonder :D as for the ti4200, have any plans to score higher? what about that 3700eb of yours running 250x10?

Well it's in my P4 875 gaming rig at the moment to be honest as it is my gaming card.
Let me stick it in the AMD64 and give GF4 ( aka RAD98 ) a bloody nose he will never forget. :) LOL errrrrr ...
Maybe ...
Now what drivers was it 3.5 ? Why do Ati have something along the lines of 6707 in futuremark which means nothing to me
Stupid bloody benching thing. Give me nvidia anyday.
Except for games of course ;)

you have a long way to go to beat my 22k and I may be at 23k. you still have yet to beat your ti4200 ;) also how does this 9800 pro overclock? as for the ti4200, have any plans to score higher? what about that 3700eb of yours running 250x10? use that ram for your 9800p run and games too, my ram also does 250x10 and its cheapo corsair value :D

Well I can do 250x10 at 2.5-3-3-7 or 227 at 2.5-2-2-5, so it is a bit of a toss up .. the ti4200 is awaiting the cold water treatment but I have still to get electricity sorted out to the shed :( .
Doing a run on the 9800 now at 447/740 and 2475Mhz ..

heheh be sure to publish this project and link me! you have slightly higher gpu clocks than me and 250MHz on me in cpu power. as for your ram, set it to cas3, maybe this will gain you higher fsb over cas2.5? I think you should have like 22.5k by now :D

wow zake, nice one! is there more out of her for a 24k run? oh and I love your car low. I think my ras-cas3 timing could be costing me 800 marks, I am going to investigate. also my cpus 512k cache and with faster gpus, ill be bottlenecked alot more than back on a ti4200. I hear 1mb cache cpus give a big boost in car and drag low with the x800s, probably same with 9800pro but a bit less a boost
as for farcry:
