View Full Version : What thermometer do you use?
Hi!
What thermometer do you use for measuring temps?
I have a Pt1000 probe attached to a digital thermometer, however looking to upgrade to a laser/infra-red thermometer.
Anyone got experience of these laser ones, and are they more accurate (like +0.5'c) than Pt1Ks/Pt100s?

Fluke 2190A off ebay + T type thermocouple. Well under 50 bucks for both, extremely accurate.

Anyone had experiences with Fluke 51?

Omega's are nice.. and better price than Fluke.

CAL 9400 series looks pretty good, I think I'll give them a call in the morning and ask for a quote.

I think the limit is the thermocouple. Omega claims their Type T probes are accurate down to 3 degrees above absolute zero. I haven't tried that yet though :) I actually picked up the meter after reading a recommendation from Bill Adams of Swiftech who used it for testing and haven't had too much time to play with it yet.
However useing just a 3 dollar K type probe, I'm pretty impressed. I can easily see the difference in room temp just from me walking into room and standing around for a few minutes with it.
