Their doesnt seem to exist a cpu graph that shows AMD in relation to Intel comparing performance. Sure, we have the AMD pr ratings on the chips, but for many chips, it is not even entirely true. Sure a xp 2400+ may equate to a 2.4 PIV, but thats the 533fsb variant. What does a 2400+ compare to a 800fsb chip? What about those that run their chips at 250fsb at 2ghz? What does that stand for? Some of you guys may think, what difference does that matter, but it would consist of a resource to the public if such a graph was put together. I don't hold alot of weight in this forum, as I am just a reader of it, but I would love to see such an effort to put one together.

Good Idea/Bad Idea? Start putting together a list of benchmarks for people to run on both platforms? Or does one exist like this already?

just wait till intell starts putting model numbers on them.

That would be very interesting (assuming it was kept updated) but since most of us overclock, *cough*Kanavit*cough*, it would be useless as different chips scale better than others, within the same product.

And iNTEL thinks that makes it easier :D Now I have absolutely no clue what a 540 is. It was much easier before, Clock-Speed - A/B/C/E etc... FSB/Core (Northwood/Prescott/Gallatin...), Cache...

Now it's 3 random numbers that are completely meaningless to me.

That chart wouldnt work because of variations in different peoples systems such as motherboard, ram timings etc. However a database of results could be put together. However it would be hard to do fair comparisons.
