Well as if my video problem wasent bad enough (fixed it) this is worse. I went skating for the day and didnt know it was going to storm so I left my computer on (no surge for PSU) and came home to nothing. Turn it on and I get that screen that lets you pick normal boot and safe mode and crap (win XP home) and no matter what I pick the system reboots and POSTs again and the same process keeps on going. I tried unpluging the PSU and reseting CMOS to no avail. Did something fry? HDD currupted? I have a ton of stuff on that drive that I havent backed up :\ This ever happen to anyone before?

Rig is the DFI infinity one in my sig.

Blah I cant even get the windows disk to boot. It freezes at "setup is starting windows" twice now and the third time it gave me a blue screen saying restart and press F8 to go to safe mode if it happends again and safe mode wont even work. I tried safe mode with command prompt and it froze. I'm gona try my BH5 sticks from the basement after this try of the windows CD again. Looks like I'm gona be getting another HDD now...

Try resetting the bios with the reset jumper.

I've had the dmi pool corrupt in the past with sudden power loss or spike - its rare, but can happen....the result is ya windows may just bsod on boot...or devices r missing etc - a simple bios reset will sort it.

Worth a shot :)

Win2k has a BSOD everytime I booted up and went to advanced boot options menu where you select safe mode over and over. I could't restore it. But, luckily I had a backup. My friend had the same problem with WinXP and just selected last known good config. You should use system restore more often. You probably have a bad driver installed.
