Wow didn't know there was Vitesta 566...
Had a pair of Adata vitesta ddr500 before. But they really sucked.

i saw a-data DDR500 @DDR600

i think these babies can go around DDR650 with nice overvolt

LorD_Kvadd
07-26-2004, 10:10 AM
As far as I'm concerned the adata doesn't like voltage at all. Mine didn't care if i put 2,9V on them they still didn't go any higher

I_Am_ToO_SeXy

y, OCZ EB don't like overvolt too :(

3 or 3,5 volts r the same :\

LorD_Kvadd
07-26-2004, 10:15 AM
aren't those supposed to love voltage? =/
well I sold my vitesta and got myself a pair of Corsair BH-5. And I was in heaven until i remembered that my motherboard only could achive 2,9Vdimm without modding it.

i want BH5 too T_T

can't find here in italy T_T

i love mushkin purple heatsink lol... so SeXy...

At my workplace, A-Data actually sent our company their DDR-566s. The chips read as follows.

Samsung 425
K4H560838F-TCCDs

So these are indeed the F die TCCDs. Although the SPD gives 6-3-3-3, I've tested them at 5-2-2-2 up to 225 FSb at 2.8v on a Soyo Dragon 87P. My lowest timings were 2.5-4-4-7 (which for Pentium 4's is alright... better than 3-4-4-8) at 280 FSB in dual channel. The change from 2.8v to 2.9v yielded no increase in OC, so I'm guessing it doesn't like voltage. However, I've yet to volt mod thos board (still waiting on my work to purchase a P4C800).
On an A8V with an FX-53, I was also able to get that board up to 235 FSB at 3-2-2-6 at the stock multipler of 12. Haven't done further testing but I'll see. I'll also try testing it on an AG8 with a 3.0E.

A-data DDR566 (Samsung TCCD) is good in overclock!!

D5 can working 8-4-4-3 (1:1) to pull high Mhz.....& Winbond BH-5 could set RAM clock in the best 5-2-2-2......

but,TCCD even to get up!!

DDR566 V-dimm just only 2.5v

and about the samsung tccd memory... thats nice for people who are scared of high vdimm or of doing vdimm mods, but hynix still outperforms it. the new hynix memory even runs with 2.5-3-3 up to ddr500+

Very nice MHz numbers there :toast:

Thanks for the 3DMark data too!

Running with slow timings seems to give quite a hit in performance if compared to 2-2-2-5 timings. Take a look at the 3dmark2001 score and Game Test 3 - Lobby hi and low results (these are the system speed/real world bandwidth indicators).

2577MHz, 8x322, 1:1 3-4-4-8:
Lobby Low = 345.3fps
Lobby Hi = 157.7fps

2394MHz (http://www.akiba-pc.com/e107_images/articles/a64_3000/2400mhz_fx_a64.gif), 9x266, 1:1 2-2-2-5:
Lobby Low = 354.7fps
Lobby Hi = 159.3fps

2528MHz (http://www.akiba-pc.com/e107_images/articles/a64_3000/24920_air_361fsb.gif), RAM @281MHz 2-2-2-5, R9800XT:
Lobby Low = 361.0fps
Lobby Hi = 172.2fps

Havent seen you in a while Macci, been busy and with what? Nice showing how bad ras-cas4 is! Even bh5 at 266fsb will blow away any 320+ fsb high latency ram, especially if cpu Mhz is constant!

Rancidelephant
08-14-2004, 12:33 AM
but how many people have the ram or the volts to do 266fsb 2-2-2-5 .... most poeple can give ram 2.8v looks like brilliant overclocking ram for the masses .... so where are those dual channel benchies !!

althes
08-14-2004, 03:43 AM
dont think its possible dual channel

Anyone w/ BH5/3700EB ram, good A64 mobo and DDR booster or modding skills. :D
266 on A64 board ain't that difficult. And it seems that 250ish 2-2-2-5 is enough to match 3-4-4-8 stuff at 320 (when CPU MHz is equal)..

Geforce4ti4200
08-14-2004, 06:55 AM
my point exactly. My friend wasnt kidding when he said dont even think of pc4200 ram. My plan was to grab some pc4200 and try to get high 200s or even 300fsb without vmod, he said you might as well run bh5 at 220-230fsb at 2.9v and get equal or better performance

sorry not acually ddr700:(

you have A64, and are using 4 multipier, and the lowest ram devisor for a64 is 5 so your are running at 350mhz@4:5=280mhz, still awsome though.....

test bandwidth at 280mhz w/ 5 multi @1:1, and at 350mhz w/ 4multi @1:1, and results should be very similar....

Im using ABIT K8VPRO and without VTT MOD yet...
Right now i get 260 1:1 @2.85 VDDR ....
My question is ....
1) Who far did you go @ 2.85 VDDR ?
2) Is your mobo VTT MODED ?
3) If YES how far did you go your fsb @ 1:1 @ 3.2 VDDR as max at uGuru ?
