Looks destroyed, but you might be able to fix it with some soulder skills.

u could try to fit some solder in there so that it perfectly contacts the ram to the dimm slot, but it might be hard to do

i've actually done it with my 512 stick of bh-5 try to get some flux just in the middle of the empty slot then with a nice fine point iron just tin the tip and do a quick tap in the middle.

Looks like it was shorted :(

You can try put some solder onto that spot, but it could very well be some traces are burned out too. So you'll have to check that.

You can check some resistances and compare them to another chip, if there not the same you know enough.

If you find burned out traces you probally can redo them with conductive silverpaint.

I can't see any burned traces on front and back ( so that is good )
Tomorow i try to put some solder in it ( not so handy with soldern iron )

thx for the reply's guys

when u put solder on, only put a tiny amount, u dont want it contacting the other contacts on each side, put a little in the center, and it should make contact with the dimm slot

It shouldn't be impossible to fix. I personally would have doubt that it'd work, considering that it was probably shorted and that there was slight damage to the 2 contacts beside it. That would lead me to belive that the ram itself may have sustained some damage. Deffinatly try to fix it though, I know I would :D

Wow. Something got hot. Better fix the cause before you try to fix the damage.

i would try to glue a piece od metal onto the spare point and apply some solder to that metal. :) should work really good.

Besides some juicy BH5 being toasty, an attempt at fixing it could cause another serious problem for you...crispy motherboard if the module is not repaired properly.

However it could have just been a random peice of metal falling into the dimm slot in the first place which caused the trouble. Either way I wouldn't test it on your best/favorite board.

that pin looks like it connects to an internal trace, not the hole directly above it?

I have the same thing on my one great stick of Corsair 3200 BH5.. And guess what.. It still works!.. Been that way for years.

Its even the better stick outa 2 of the same. Around 250FSB tight timings.

The only thing is that it reparts 511MB insted of 512.

Made a pic
I used supergleu ( the soldern thing was not working )
I did some tape on the left and right contact then a small copper wire in the empty place then a drop of supergleu

Did 2 hours of memtest ( not much but enough for a quik test )

Not beautyifull but working ;)
