View Full Version : How's 2.8A for 3dmark ??
We've noticed these cpu's are very good for super pi, but how are them for 3dmark ?? i'm interested in buying one.
thx :)

I think they are largely good for superpi because they are good for XTREME cooling. As in LN2, get 5ghz+ and run 1:1 240-250 with bh5.
For a 24/7 system, a northwood C with HT would be much better as I understand it.
yes for DI and LN2 are really good, but i mean : using DI or another extreme cooling will whese cpu's be good for 3dmark too ? 3dmark at 4700mhz 250 2 2 2 5 1:1 will be good i think

Lithan got right all the line....

I would expect they are pretty good for 3dmark, but the lower WPC vs northwoods and the lower cache (and WPC) vs EE's will mean that you will probably not score as high as you could with either of those chips.

They are "relatively" good for 3D Mark.... slower than Northwood clock per clock and miles behind A64. If you could bench at 5ghz, it's probably be equal to an A64 @ 2900mHz....

sure never equal to your fx charlie :toast:
i don't have a big budget for mobo + cpu, so the 2.8a is good for me.
Charlie do you mean 2900mhz 754 or 939 ? 939 is too expansive for me

will they get faster than a northwood through higher clocks? For example, which would you pick to 3dmark under cascade, northwood, or prescott?

For clockspeeds, Prescott or Gallantin (m0 stepping northwood or EE).

Oh, and m0 stepping northwood or EE for performance too.

You dont have better performance w/ a M0 then a D1 in the Northwoods.....

under cascade, go Pressie.........4700 Pressie is a lot faster than 4300 NW..........

what about under a mach1 :D im itching to build a new intel ocing rig. i realy want one of these newer pressies just dont know what platform yet? im thinking the 3.0 and the new 915/925 chipset. think that would scale higher then my northwood at 4200mhz?
thx perc,
