I'm curious how the 5750 does....it's at a nice pricepoint and if it's wildly OC'able it may be a LOT of fun...

Will get to that as soon as possible.
Testing some overclocks with the 5300

But 2.5-2-2 smells something to the OCZ EB side. How much voltage was needed for you to get this timing improvement over 3-3-3?

I have this same board with a 3.0 instead of the 2.8 you have. Overclocking was very difficult. I only got up to 225 FSB on highly overclockable Hynix D5 Chips. Changing voltage on anything didn't seem to help except for the NB which got me an extra 5Mhz in FSB from 1.5v to 1.6v. Please let me know how you do with your 2.8 because I'm contemplating on picking up a 2.8 just to test out for max memory overclocks.

No these are regular old crucial sticks

wow, sandra is a hell of alot better at 5:4 at less then 200, then a it was at stock at 200 at 1:1....

thats interesting.
maybe I am wrong, but P4's usually stay around the same bandwith, with similar FSB's.
it looks like this thing just gets better with speed, like the A64.

am I missing something??

althes
07-24-2004, 06:48 PM
nope, strange to me also, whats funny is the vid card took a dive in scores.

crop them pictures, or post cliffs. we dont need to see the default windows background taking up the whole page.

nice mem bandwidth tho.

of course if bandwidth was all important we'd still be running RDRAM.

Nice............
265, no locks............that's the 915P chipset running DDR......... still wondering about 925X chipset....

althes
07-25-2004, 01:44 AM
If this can do that the 925 has to do even better.
This is all on air with stock cooler.

althes, the 12v line is a bit low. Did yiu checked with a multimeter too ?;)
this is psu hungry...

Let's see a score with the card and CPU OC/ed.

althes
07-25-2004, 02:51 PM
running it now.

althes
07-26-2004, 03:12 AM
I have gotten up to 267fsb on the stock cooler.
I think the cpu will go some more but the vid cards are freaking out because the pci e bus is around 122.
I have noticed that you cannot change the bus speed on the pci express or the system will not boot.It has to be left on auto.
The board handles the ram very well, no PAT but I will see if there is a way around that.
I will try some hyper X tonite and see how it goes.
The bios I am using is dated 7/6/04
The stock bios will not allow you to OC past 215fsb.
I have asked abit about a bios to lock the pci express if its even possible.
I am using stock volts no need to push it up.For the NB volts I use around 1.6-1.7 depends on the board, picky when it come to NB volts.
The board is very fast and stable no issues at all.
I will try a pci card and seeing nothing will be using the pci e bus I hope to improve my overclock.
Any ideas would be welcome.

althes
07-26-2004, 01:38 PM
here is sandra run at 235 using hyper x 3200

althes
07-26-2004, 05:36 PM
Here is the highest run using the 61.45 drivers on the 5750 and using Hyper X.
The card does not like high fsb speed over 245 to run benches.
Here is a sandra run;)

althes
07-26-2004, 05:37 PM
here is the pi run also

althes
07-26-2004, 05:40 PM
If I do the volt mod or the ocz booster this HyperX will go far.

althes
07-26-2004, 06:42 PM
Hopefully I can get the abit ati pci e vid card and it will take more bus speed.

Nice clocks/system.

I'll stick with my Clawhammer thou ;)

250 1:1 is pretty nice. What vdimm options do you have with that board?

Unseen
07-27-2004, 02:15 AM
mine has 3,2

althes
07-27-2004, 02:51 AM
The board offers
vcore 1.925
vdimm 3.2 overvolts by .2
NB volts to 2.05
Pci e bus 99-255
Ram auto/6:5/1:1

I have actually gotten up to 3738, but the cards are freaking out.

althes
07-27-2004, 07:44 AM
I will be getting a pci card either today or tomorrow, shoot for 4ghz on air.

althes
07-27-2004, 03:09 PM
This is the highest I can get even with a pci card, that lock is needed. Also cpuid cant read the cpu anymore:D

althes
07-27-2004, 03:10 PM
I have to use oc guru to show clock speed.Any other program i can use?

althes
07-27-2004, 05:35 PM
this is just so wrong

althes
07-27-2004, 05:35 PM
Only gets better

althes
07-28-2004, 02:46 AM
Anyone have any ideas why this is so high.

eva2000
07-28-2004, 02:55 AM
thinkk it's a sandra bug once fsb gets to a certain speed

althes
07-28-2004, 03:10 AM
Which means we need a new version of cpuz also, because that cant read the board either.
I will have to do another run this evening, and probaly a fresh install, pain in the a**

althes
07-29-2004, 06:33 PM
I just hit 271fsb on a fresh windows install.

althes
07-29-2004, 06:34 PM
here it is.

charlie
07-29-2004, 06:46 PM
Now do you think that 271 is a "limit"? Or maybe the CPU is maxed>>>>???????????

C

althes
07-29-2004, 06:56 PM
Its not the limit, I just have been using the stock cooler.
SO I may need to upgrade the cooler.
Raise the volts on the somehow.
The cpu hates when I raise the volts.
Up the nb volts also, put some as5 on the nb with a better fan.
Ram is holding tight no issues.
Its just the board I will mess around with now.
The cpu has in no way hit its limit.
The cooling on cpu and board I will have to improve.
Need a new bios for the pci e.
Using win xp the pci e was 122 and I couldnt go any further.
Move to win2k pci e goes up to 124, comp rocks on like a champ.
I have to admit the pcx5300 is a great vid card.
I really want to try a ati pci e card to see if it will accept higher pci e speed.
Hope that answers your question charlie

althes
07-29-2004, 06:59 PM
cpuz refuses to read the correct speed and the bios also does not.

althes
08-01-2004, 06:00 PM
I just hit 275fsb with a new bios.

althes
08-01-2004, 06:02 PM
I hit 280fsb but crashed, need to do a little modifications.Going for that 4Ghz on air.

althes
08-01-2004, 06:03 PM
The pcie clock is holding strong.

maxx-p
08-02-2004, 12:44 PM
Good job.
Let us know when the CPU is maxed
4GHz, that's the way to go :toast:

quicksilverXP
08-02-2004, 01:14 PM
The question is are games any stable at all with that PCI clock so high? Isn't the limit 120Mhz?

althes
08-02-2004, 03:23 PM
its stable enough, but not that stable, when the board feels like it it will run all day, if it feels     :banana:y then youbust luck.

althes
08-02-2004, 06:03 PM
Ihit 280fsb using pci card s3 virge

althes
08-02-2004, 06:04 PM
switched dimm slots to 2 and 4

althes
08-02-2004, 06:20 PM
temps still using stock cooler.
NB is hot so is sb.

althes
08-02-2004, 06:46 PM
I can taste 4Ghz. I think I need to cool the nb and sb any ideas they use the push pins, I am thinking of just slapping on some as5.
