I have 2 80GB Seagate SATA drives, and DFI Infinity motherboard

My problem seems to be much like Riddic's here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39149.

I Had windows xp pro installed on them, but they got hosed. so when i go to reinstall XP, windows doesnt see the harddrives so i cant install to them.

I have: formatted, partitioned, not formatted, not partitioned, loaded drivers by hitting F6, and not loaded drivers, and have even tried them as single drives not in raid, but no matter what windows will not see them to install to.

Also, the drives work, i know they do. i put them in someone elses computer and booted to their windows, and was able to get onto my drives and access any/all the data on them when my windows got hosed. this is realy pissing me off.

So i'm on a 40GB drive for the mean time that i took out before cause its dying. hopefully it will be good for a few days before it starts corrupting things on me.

Did you check the wiring? Maybe some bad SATA cables.
I had no problems with my SATA drive on the DFI Infinity.

yeah dude, the wiring is fine. like i said, the drives work, i can do anything i want with them, just not install windows to them, as the installer doesnt detect them, even if i load the drivers by pressing F6 from a floppy.

it's a driver issue
make sure you have the floppy in there and hit "S" to select proper raid driver
otherwise OS won't see drive for install

Yep... also try recreating the RAID volume from the RAID ROM. Make the sectors as small as you can if you are running RAID 0. Go out to DFI's site and get the newest RAID driver disk image. Also... disconect ALL other harddrives then try and install XP! I'm full of ideas... errrr... I'm full of something! :toast:
