straight to the point here. i was goin pretty good increasing myt 3dmark score. i have a 10562. then i decided to reformat thinking a fresh hdd would get me a little extra. well i was wrong. i reformatted and installed all the necessary drivers and 3dmark. well...now i cant break 10k at all. i am using same settings in riva tuner and actually higher core and memory clocks on my videocard than before and am barely breaking 9k. i dont understand what changed with the reformat.

Remman,

Are you sure you're using the same 4in1 drivers? In my experience the 4.37's have been the fastest for 3DMark.

Also, Win2k should give you quite a few more points over WinXP :)

What nate (N8?) said, and did you have any tweaks you forgot to do? Like enabling UDMA/66 etc? I always forget to go through and thoroughly leanify w2k whenever I do a fresh install... that is, untill I notice things like filesharing is still on (eek!)

reupbert,

Yep, Nate :)

Yea, I've done that before as well....realized I had not applied certain tweaks/etc.

i hadnt done any windows tweaks before and didnt this time. i used 4.43 via drivers before and am again. i wrote down all of my riva tuner settings also and they are the same. UDMA / 66? never knew anything about that...what is it?

Can you post a full compare link with your new score? That may help in determining what's wrong.

well i dont have a recent one. one thing i am finding is that my system is very unstable after the format. im lucky to complete the games tests now at 185 fsb. before i could do it easy all day long. could it be my power supply is failing? like i said i cant get anywhere above 9500. yesterday i benched at 175 fsb aggressive timings and got a 9500. i rebooted and upped the fsb to 185 with same timings. second 3dmark try i got a 9100. why is it that the more i overclock the lower my score gets? i have a generic 375w power supply. aroia y 0213 xp 1600+, abit kx7-333, 2x256 samsung pc2700, VT geforce3 ti500...

It's possible that your PSU is failing at high speeds. What do the voltage lines look like?

Can you finish a complete 3DMark with the same settings when you hit 10.5k? If you can publsih the link so we can check it out, it may tell us what's wrong.
