a much safer way would be to turn the pot a little bit and turn it on to check. do it until you get the right rails. yea its longer, but it much better than getting shocked.

I did it with everything on after drinking a lot.

From how sensitive the pots are I don't see how you could do it without it on...

I did it with the psu on hooked up to an old harddrive
and read the lines with a digital multimeter.
I wouldnt believe what the bios reports because on mine the bios
read considerably lower then the true voltage as read by meter.

Can't be accurate taking readings in BIOS or other programs
such as MBM5 etc.

To do it right you gotta use a DMM on the different lines.

Hook it up to a floppy drive or an old HDD to put a small
load on it.

Connect a green wire to a black wire (using a jumper) that
is found in the 20 pin power plug. This will kick the PSU on.

Now take your readings from the different molex connections
and check things out. Adjust your pots accordingly. If you
go to far the ovp in the PSU will shut things down so back up
your adjustment a tad.

ITs not a very safe thing to be doing.

Heatsinks and other components in there will be running live at potentialy dangerous voltages.

From a safety point of view you should turn off before ajusting anything.

I certainly wouldnt want to ajust them with the PSU powering your PC.. if you slip you may blow up your PC. Its supprisingly easy to drop a screwdriver into your PSU when you accidentally shock yourself with 240v ac.
Use popcicles methof of jumping the PSU on the bench, then turn off to ajust things.
