AMD (Clawhammer) Athlon 64 Bit 3200/1 Mb L2 cache 754Pin CPU OEM ADA3200AEP5AP - £174

or

AMD (Newcastle) Athlon 64 bit 3200/ 512kb L2 Cache 754pin CPU Retail 3 year warranty. - £189

Probable board is either GB K8NS/ Pro or EPoX 8kda3j (epox is at same site as last chip, GB is at other site. Clawhammer is at its own site)

if the cpu is a c0 which it probably is, i heard i cannot run 2x512mb chips and overclock very well?

Yes the C0 can run with 2x512 on the new NF3 250 chipset.. Overclock to prob around 2.5.. Now if its a CG revision then i have no idea.. i guess it would overclock higher.

Clawhammer it's twice the cache and cheaper, it's a no-brainer.

Okay. I guess I'll pickup the Clawhammer then.

Next question is, what board?

btw: any more input on the 2x512mb chips and c0 3200+'s and o'cin on the nf3 250's? just to convince myself =)

The MSI looks better IMO.

I can get a gb k8npro 2nd hand for £44 should I go for this? Atm I have 2x256mb bh5 and if the 3200+ is c0 I can still overclock rite?

But 1gb of ram wont work on nf3 150 with c0 right?

I'd go with the CH, But it's C0 so you may consider that (you can get loosy chips with that steppings, but with CG or NewCastle you can't wrong).

Newcastle is clocked 200mhz higher so itd be faster but not as good ocer as the CH

from what i've seen the newcastles clock better than the ch on average?

Btw can anyone give input on the gb k8npro :)

also I definately think these are C0 steppings, either that or Ebuyer have made a misprint (highly likely) as they don't update themselves often.

well they sold out a few minutes after my above post, so thats a no go.

How does the newcastle perform on the gb k8npro? I could pickup a really cheap 2800+ to keep me going for a bit. And the k8npro is £40.
