XF1 is up and running!

Well, finally got XF1 up and running, after several boot ups and swap outs. Had to take my p///800 out to rob it of some parts for now, the spare floppy, cdrom, and vid card I had all failed:( So I robbed the p/// for those (so much for the kids gaming rig for now). So now I'm busy loading the os, drivers, and etc... Should have it folding it's first wu here in about an hour or so:) :banana:

DDtung, I didn't have any spare ddr to get that board you sent running for xf1, so I used the MSI k7t master I had to get it going. I'll use the ASUS board you sent to get the spare xp1600 going after I get the rest of what I need for that one. :)

SO, after long adoo, here's XF!'s specs:

netgear fa311 nic
dvd rom and floppy
spare aluminum oem hsf (Hardass, that alpha you sent was missing one of the 4 spring and bolts and I didn't have anything to suffice)

Yep, gets me kinda teary eyed;)

Still trying to figure out why it is only recognizing this proc as a tbird 750, (100 x 7.5) This mobo apparently doesn't have any kinda multi changing abilities:( Just has auto detect) Does have fsb adjustments though, but that really doesn't help mush for this things purpose. But I'm not giving up on it yet. I'll find a way to get to those multi settings. The board has a via kt133 chipset on it. I've gone to Msi's website and flashed the bios to the newest one, but that still didn't add anymore bios control.

So, even with the mobo detecting the cpu as a tbird 750, do you think that F@H will still fold at the cpu's full capabilities? And, do you think that with the cpu unlocked, that is the reason that the mobo is autodetecting it as it's lowest multi? Maybe I can remove the cpu and remove some of the unlocking paint to get it to run at factory again at least. :(

Oh well, I'm back to trying to figure these issues out. I'll keep everyone updated. Post your thoughts, cause I'll be checking in periodically on my other rig. :)

Hey, you didn't use that DDR or hard drive I sent ya for XF1? Just curious...was 128MB DDR & a 2.1GB HD. Hope it gets used anyway :)

Ok, I've figured out why it's not booting at default factory settings for that chip. That tbird Hardass sent me was a 133mhz chip (so that's factory at 133 x 7.5). So that's why it keeps booting at the multi of 7.5. But the problem is with this mobo I've got it in, it's got to be the worst o/cing board I've ever messed with!:( It won't boot at anywhere's past 113 fsb, so for now it is folding at 847.5 mhz (which is still better than nothing)
This mobo is a real let down! I can't believe it won't handle anything past 113. At 133, the pci setting is default to 33mhz (which is where it should be) so I can't figure out why it won't run at that, but it won't.:(
Oh well, XF1 is still folding tough at the 847.5 mhz for now, and when I get the other two tbirds in that I just purchased yesterday, I'll try swapping some of them around and see which one will run faster.

Btw, I found an old pci vid card out of a p166, so I swapped them out in XF1 and it ran just fine with it. So, my p/// is back into the fold. XF1 is currently running without any cdrom in it, but it isn't needed now anyways. Everything is loaded onto it and it is running fine. :banana: :toast:

No, it hasn't showed up yet. I've got XF1 running on a sdram setup. I've got XF2 in the works for that stuff. :) I got ahold of an old p166, so I robbed the floppy, hdd, cdrom, and fans, used another mobo that I was planning to put to the fold anyways, and got it up and running. Basically, I got impatient;) I swore I was going to have XF1 up and running before the beginning of next week. But at this rate, XF2 will be up and running before the end of this week. I've already got it half assembled, just waiting on your stuff, and another vid card I bought yesterday.
Plus, I've already started scrounging for the beginnings of XF3:) It's funny, I walk into my office now and there's a definite temp difference as soon as I enter the room. The wife has even commented about it. Good thing we're coming into winter;)
At least she's behind us 100%. If the noise gets to her, she just shuts the door. :D

ahh ok...yea i checked the fedex tracking...apparently they tried to deliver friday but noone was home. you prolly coulda went and picked it up @ the office, that is depending on how close it is ;)

Not quite yet, we've got one completed and one 2/3rd's of the way there. The rest of what I need to complete it is already in transit :banana:

UGH!!! Well, again today the wife left for about an hour to go up to the school my kids are in and don't you know that's when the fedex guy had to show up. So still no deliveries:( I told her to just sign the little slip giving them permission to just leave the package at the door. She has to go back up to the school again tomorrow. She's been volunteering to help out some of the teachers for like an hour or two a day. At work the fedex and ups guys all run on regular schedules, I know exactly about what time they'll be there everyday, but not the bozo running the route at my house. He shows up at any given time during the day, and each time is different from the last. No consistency at all! By tomorrow, I'm expecting at least three different shipments to be ariving. Man I really hope they manage to get it right. I've got another folder just sitting here waiting on one component (ram N8 is sending) to get it up and running. Plus the other two shipments should d*mn near complete even another folder.
