Anyone know any issues I can take to trouble shoot this? I'm using a Fortron 530 and everytime I try to start her up I get a little CPU fan twist and thats it. MoBo light is on and everything, just won't start.

MoBo Asus a8v

Any help please!

try flicking the switch on the back of the power supply a bunch of times on and off, and then trying again.

make sure the ATX12v line is plugged in if the A8V uses it

Yeah both hooked up, flipped the switch many times, still no go. mobo light stays on but everytime I press the power switch the CPU fan spins for a second then nothin. It almost seems like something is shorting out.

Also, I can't even hear this Fortron PSU, I know Fortrons are quiet but all I hear is this faint buzz when I put my ear up to it.

Could this sort of thing be because of an impromper cpu installation? But wouldn't the motherboard at least boot up and say something?

Any help, anyone?

Well I had the same problem when I put together my athlon64 system.. The fans would turn for 1 sec and nothing. After trying new memory cards and nothing but board and memory still same thing.. After a little reading I found out that the fultron 530 has built in protection. Mine would not boot because of guess faulty ground at socket.. If your fultron just spins for a sec just like the cpu fan then Try another psu..

splice the green wire in the mobo connector to a switch to ground. Try seeing if you can get it to boot with the switch.

airwolves that was it, I switched out my fortron 530 and bam, started right up into bois... So what the hell is the problem? I got mine at newegg, brand new, retail, last week, so I have to send it back now because of some grounding thing?
