Hi, so I just figured out my problem on my lovely NF7 ( ). I can do Superpi with ease at 240fsb when Vcore is only 1.85v. But when I set Vcore to about 2.1v even 220FSB is not stable anymore. Anyone could help me here, is there a way to solve this problem ?

Same here on 8RDA+ and 3* NF7. Try to cool down the mosfets.

That's the only factor ? The heat ?

what are mofsets? I have a NF7 and would like to be filled in on this. I wont go over 1.9v, I just don't have the balls for that kind of voltage going into my baby. I would like higher fsb though.

mosfets are the black squares left from the socket. That's were the voltage is "produced" (dunno how to say it in english). If you only go for 1.9v there shouldn't be any problems with fsb, except too low Vdimm. ;)

ive never owned a DFI but have heard the VCore reg on NF7 boards is better...

sai,
your problem is a common one and does have partial fixes. The NF7 doesn't like to run High FSB with High VCore unless APIC is disabled... disable it and see how much that helps you.
One thing to remember is that unless you installed the OS with APIC disabled you will not be able to disable it easily

That's not right. You can always disable APIC in win2k or XP if you install it with it enabled (standard install with acpi on in bios)...

You only have to install another driver in controlpanel -> ACPI-PC instead of ACPI-Uniprocessor-PC... but I already explained it to sai some time ago...

Disable APIC in bios, that should be the problem. I had that same problem too and disabling apic fixed it.

Hey SAE, In my case I had to reinstall windows, nothing else worked for me.

Disabling it in BIOS stops windows recognizing it and the HAL cannot be loaded anymore. That's not what I was referring to... I was talking about the "disable it in windows"-method, you never have to disable it in BIOS.

That's why I also said one has to do the standard installation with 2k/XP with ACPI and APIC enabled in BIOS to have the flexibility of changing these settings later...

I rather die than disabling APIC, that's nearly 30 fps gone in car low :(

try running a high 3.3 rail

Err I have APIC disabled in BIOS and Windows and still got the probs. It's MUCH better than APIC enabled, but still    :banana:ty.
