I need to do this mod because my vcore drops from 1.6 to 1.45
I've never done mods or soldered anything but it shouldn't be that hard with a little help from you guys.
I ordered the gear for the mod which should be arriving in a few hours.
Ordered a soldering iron with a thin point. 27k+1k resistors as malves says. I'm using floppy cable as wire.

Has Malves linked these two resistors by soldering em on eachother ? How do you solder the cable on the resistor i dont get it  On the picture it looks like its running through the resistors im confuzzled. help appreciated.

Yes, those resistors are soldered in series, one to the other. The black stuff is liqud eletrical tape.
The mod is not the easiest one, but if you take your time, you can do it.
I wrote a soldering guide (http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/articles/guides/Soldering_Guide_1.html) for EOC sometime ago. It may be usefull for ya.

http://image01.conrad.com/m/4000_4999/4100/4190/4192/419206_BB_00_FB.EPS.jpg so i just take these two and solder each one leg of the resistor on eachother .. that should be easy. :D

btw is it essential to use tape ?

OMFG i just took a look at the chip and im horrified its SO small how do i solder it. Do i solder it on top of the chip or on the legs ?
Can someone take a good high res close up pic plz .. i just tried to take one and it came out all blurry

this is the gear that just came in:

In the pic it clearly shows you are supposed to solder on each side of the capacitor.:)

Yeehaw i've done it and its well worth it my vcore is stable now :)
but now my cpu temperatures are higher when its under load ?! did i fook up the temperature sensors whilst soldering are they in the area of the vcore mod chip ?
or is it because i dropped the zalman heatsink on my bed and dust/hair came on the coolingpasta ?

you have dust in your thermal paste!?! Reapply it! Thats almost like having none at all if you have the amount you described.

It should be a little higher just because of the increased voltage going into the chip.

im waiting for my arctic silver tube should be all good after :)
its like 49 on idle and goes all over 70 on load

The arctic silver came in i put it under my heatsink.

Temps are 51 idle and go over 75+ on load :/ when it reaches the 75 it auto shuts down :|
Did i do something wrong during the mod that causes these high temps ? un    :banana:inbelievable im so pissed

i run a P4 3.0 prescott @ 3.8 ghz on 1.5v with a zalman 7000 cooler

How tightly do you have the HS bolted on? It seems like you have bad contact. I have gotten better temps from people using no thermal paste.

hey mate when i twist the zalman it does glide a bit over the cpu but i screwed it on with all my powers. dunno what to do else.

I put the INTEL stock fan on
On stock speed (3.0GHZ) i get 73 degrees on load :|
This all happened after the mod :(

During the soldering i melted the "chip" a lil bit where i soldered the wires on i think not sure.
Whats wrong ? :( or is it just wrong temp readings

have you checked how high the voltage really are then.. ??
